This was a rough day out on the seas. My crew and I were constantly harassed by a duo of brigantines as the worst times possible. We would not see their ships until we were ready to turn in or worse, when we were already dealing with another problem. The worst fight of our lives happened just like that, sailing around with no problems. When our ship gets attacked by a kraken. Sucks, but we were stocked up to take it on with no problem. But just before we had defeated it, they showed up. Fully taking advantage of the situation and surrounding us. We quickly changed our focus on to them. But you know fighting off a kraken and two brigantines was not bad enough. A megalodon started to circle our boat, just our boat. We have somehow managed to stay alive for 10ish mins at this point when… you guessed it! Not one, BUT TWO party boats spawned! Party boat is what we call the skelly ships. So maybe another 10ish mins of suffering, our boat finally gave in and sunk. Me and one of my crew did manage to commandeer one for the enemy brigantines and used it to shoot and sink the other one before we got killed. Made us feel better at least. So being done for the night, we lit our new boat on fire and watched it sink.

I am loving all the events and updates that Sea of Thieves is having. Rare has been very generous with helping newbies like myself get levels to quickly become a pirate legend! Which I am very close to getting! Season one has been great so far! Just being able to play the game however you want and get free stuff from doing so! Not to mention the increased popularity of the game that has come, making the sea more populated. Sure, that may mean more PvP fighting. but it also has increased the number of friendlier pirates. Because some of the season pass missions are to greet and interact with other players and not kill them. With the current event of killing skelly + captains to get rewards, you are basically double dipping to get both the event rewards as well as the season rewards. I am looking forward to plenty more of updates and events to come!

Fire Tornado fun!
I have become more trusting of my skills as a pirate. More on the PvE side at least. Actual PvP skills are still very questionable. But I was saying, PvE has been fun to explore and do new things that I had not done before. One of which was going to figure out what a fire tornado meant. Getting close to the island nothing happened, so we went to the eye of the storm to see if something was there. Indeed, there was a few skeletons doing a ritual. Upon getting a little closer for a better view, a skely boss was summoned! It was very intense fight as me and my crew had never seen this before. Lucky, we managed to do the whole fight without anyone getting sent to the ferry man. There was an ammo box nearby that we would take turns grabbing from and plenty of the barrels on the island were full of food. The loot at the of the fight was well worth it as well.

I must say that I really enjoy doing the new Merchant Alliance voyage. It is still straight forward on what needs to be done. But instead of hopping from island to island just to deliver stuff, you get to hunt for clues to find where a sunken cargo ship is located. It starts of with a simple map that lets you know the intended route for delivery was for. If you follow that route you should quickly come across some floating cargo, indicated by birds flying over the cargo location. That is when you will get you first clue. You will quickly find out that like most adventures on the sea of thieves, they did not follow the best route exactly. You will find a small amount of loot with each clue, the most important loot to find is the key to the captains’ quarters. Because that is where you will find this massive hunk of loot! Just don’t forget to grab the ships manifest, that is the main objective of the voyage.

Saw this image and all I can think of is that everyone must have that mate. One guy I sail with quite frequently loves to run of with our row boats. Somehow always more successful than not. He loves to jump off with the rowboat anytime there is something shiny in the distance. Even if we tell him that is just another quest bottle and we already have a dozen or so quests already. He will go and retrieve it, even if it causes him to almost die every time. But cannot give him too much sass for it because, and I quote, “I never die now do I, Just almost!” Love that man and his crazy antics. By the way, we do not stop for him ether. This dude will row that little row boat across the whole map and make many stop along the way until he reaches the boat again.

A Fleet, A Megalodon, and a Kraken
As a quick note, I have learned what the ship cloud in the sky means. My crew and I where on our way to Marrow’s Peak Outpost to turn in and get that free 3k gold. I was steering the ship in the most direct path. When suddenly a megalodon shows up. We drop anchor figuring it would be no problem. When suddenly several ghost ships popped up from under the sea. 4 sloops and 2 galleons to be exact. It was a hard-fought battle using all our supplies up just to barely be able to take down all the ships. But that was not the end. while we were gathering all the loot that had drop from the ships, a kraken showed up and started attacking. We had no way of fighting it as we were out of cannon balls. So, we abandoned ship and managed to get all of loot on a rowboat before it all sank to the bottom of the ocean. We got lucky that out new ship spawned on a nearby island. So, we were able to turn in one of our biggest hauls yet!

I had the weirdest experience the other night. just wanted to play a bit and decided to solo sloop. started in a storm, so managing the boat was difficult. but once I got to my first destination another sloop came around the island. moving very slow, then just sank. the storm had already passed.
