Hey there! I wanted to share a friendly breakdown of Imbolc and how to celebrate as it’s coming up soon! I would like to say that this is simply ONE of many holidays celebrated by witches around this time of year, many will be celebrating under different names or associated festivals!

hearth fires are often re-lit, especially using the Yule greenery, as keeping this too long invites the fae folk to stay in the house beyond their welcome.
WHO TO HONOUR
Imbolc celebrations took place in honour of the goddess Brigid! This goddess was considered one of the most powerful Celtic gods.

She is the daughter of Dagda, one of the oldest Celtic gods In some representations.
Brigid in some stories has two sisters both also named Brigid, it’s thought among many that this is meant to represent the goddess in different forms or points in life (personally I love this aspect of them because not many gods actually do age thought the stories and legends. They’re are a few others but I just think it’s cool little thing to note)
it was often found that Brigid’s crosses were made from wheat stalks at this time of year and exchanged and hung in the home to protect from fire damage.
While many people still honour Brigid today, if working with dietys isn’t your thing, many more modern celebrations can include the following:

SOME FUN WAYS
TO CELEBRATE

having a fire this could be as nice as having a bonfire or as simple as leaving a tea light in a bowl outside for them!
for Brigid, you could write intentions on paper and throw them into the fire,
a simple meditation with a candle would be amazing for this day!
You could even make making Brigid a crosses out of pipe cleaners or paper if you have little ones you want to include in the festivities.
Maybe burn some candles in the imbolc colours which are white,pink,red, yellow, green, brown.
if you wanted to indulge in some classic imbolc type food typically it would be dairy products, spicy food or lamb! And Something that would’ve been stored over the winter, smoked meats, dried fruit and nuts!
Often times Candles are placed in windows to welcome the spring and spring cleaning and household purification rituals are common.
this is really just a quick breakdown of this witchy holiday and a few suggestions! Your celebration doesn’t have to be grand or spectacular either I’ve had imbolc where all I’ve done was change the altar cloth to a flowered one! I’ve also had imbolc a filled with ritual and magic! It’s all up to you how to celebrate the day, it’s about welcoming in the spring energy! Releasing that which serves you no more! Even spring cleaning can be associated with imbolc!

/: December has been ✨rough✨
I feel like I’ve been so absent from here. So here’s a little life update. So. Worst things first: I lost my job (I know. But what ya gonna do. Life goes on)
Less worse things now. 😂 my boyfriend and I are planning on moving so that’s a big stress and time consumer right now and we’ll if I’m honest losing the job definitely didn’t help with that so we’re falling a bit behind schedule which is stressing me out more 😂😅 not to mention the holidays on top of everything. For as much as I love this blog and all my supporters and friends here I don’t want to keep you in the dark about what’s going on or why it’s been so quiet here lately. Honestly I just simply don’t have the energy to maintain it at this point in my life. Maybe in a few weeks or maybe once I learn better time management (whenever that will be 😂)
I love this blog and I’ve put my heart into it. But for as wonderful as I think it is, life isn’t always so easy or pretty or aesthetic 😅 so this is to keeping it real and to hopefully offer some insight into why things have reallllly showed down here. Overal id say my mental health is kinda on a downward trajectory😂 but I know things will turn around. I just need to spend a little time loving my mind at the moment and making sure I take it easy. 🥰 thank you so much for understanding 🥰

Samhuin, Samain, Saman, Oidhche Shamhna, Hallowe'en, Halloween, Hallows, Hallowtide, Shadow Fest, Allantide, Third Harvest, Harvest Home, Geimredh, (Feile na Marbh), Feast of the Dead, Spirit Night, Candle Night, November Eve, and Apple Fest.
What is it?
Samhain is an old Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter (the "darker half" of the year)
What it represents
Samhain is a time when doorways to the spirit world are opened, allowing the dead to visit the living world. Some spirits were considered friendly, while others were not, and the Celts created ways to appease them.
It also marks the end of the Celtic year and the beginning of the new one and as such can be seen as an equivalent of New Year's Eve as we know it.
When is it celebrated
It is held on 1 November but with celebrations beginning on the evening of 31 October, since the Celtic day began and ended at sunset
Who to honour
Traditionally because this festival is associated with those who no longer walk this realm in a physical form, ancestors, family members, elders of the faith, friends, pets and other loved ones who have passed on are appropriate beings to honour.

In the case you want to explore other spirits to worship, any death deity would be appropriate for example, you may feel compelled to leave out an offering to Hades at this time of the year. You can also worship the earth itself, as we approach this time of the year many plants begin the end of their yearly cycle, this is the perfect time to take a moment to appreciate the beauty in that part of the cycle.
How to celebrate
There are many things to do to honour ancestors and not just the human ancestors but the earth ones and the animals as well, this may manifest in many ways.

This is something I’ve wanted to adress for this weekend, while it’s not considered a witchy holiday many people will be celebrating thanksgiving this weekend in Canada (as you all know I’m Canadian)
While celebrating Thanksgiving with our families this year, it is crucial that we also recognize this holiday as a national day of mourning for all those impacted by the genocide of Indigenous peoples through the colonization of North America.
Thanksgiving serves as a painful reminder of Canada's part in the colonization and assimilation of their people. Now is a good time to reflect and inform ourselves on the continued issues taking place against Indigenous communities in Canada.
Although for many this is a happy time spent with family, this weekend can also hold much hurt for those in Indigenous communities across Canada. How ever you're spending this weekend, I wish you comfort and connection with loved ones.🧡🧡

A special magic procedure to eliminate negative energies, clean your aura and open all doors quickly - it is really easy to do!

The use of an egg for spiritual cleansing has been rooted in many ancient cultures and cultures today. It is regarded as a symbol of growth and life. The egg is thought to absorb stuck and negative energy. It’s a special energetic tool and container that takes on life and energy when used like a spiritual vacuum. It removes whatever isn’t necessary or vital to you.

1 egg (room temperature)
1 white candle
1 glass of water (room temperature)
Salt

Light the candle
Run the egg all over your body from head to feet saying any prayer of your choice, Imagining all the negativity being absorbed into the egg

You can do the cleansing in any room you want but ensure that the room has a window to remove any negative energy.
Ensure that you have all the ingredients necessary before doing a cleansing.

If the water smells bad or you can see blood, this is a work of evil operating signal.
If there are small spots of blood in the water, this is a sign of bad luck and a damage caused by a strong witchcraft work, especially if the water is cloudy.
If the water becomes cloudy without odor and blood, this is a sign of loss of the soul or energy, provided there is no blood present.
If the egg yolk has the shape of a face, this is a sign of an enemy. A slender face indicates a male enemy, a round face indicates a female enemy.
If the yolk takes the form of an eye, this is a sign of the evil eye.
