From last November at DisneySea. I had been meaning to post these around Christmastime, but never got around to it until now.

I gave my sister some of my clothes to twin at Disney. I think the twinning turned out cute and she enjoyed wearing such cute clothing! Excuse the sneakers for walking and waiting in lines 😅 I didn't bother with bringing spare shoes this time.

This was actually our last full day in Japan so we were all pretty exhausted. I didn't get very many stellar pictures from the trip since we were rushing around so much, but I will continue to try to upload them slowly.

I slotted all our dining reservations this day and was so pleased that we managed to get to Magellan's, which I had been so eager to see. It's incredibly cool inside and the theming, like most of DisneySea, is just impeccable. We got to sit under the globe! The central globe slowly rotates 😊

We went to Filoli near San Mateo County. It was beautiful but unfortunately it started raining and we got drenched before our afternoon tea.

In the beginning of December I was inspired to make a series of outfits inspired by the month in some form. Alas although I do feel like I was making at least two outfits I loved every weekend, my posting schedule has fallen so behind I will probably be posting well into January or even February. Ah well.

This outfit was inspired by the lovely apron by Little Women Atelier and my probably 1970s (probably) dress that confuses everyone into thinking it's Edwardian (it has a zipper that appears to not be hacked in, so probably not). The two together make a lovely combo that makes me think of an Edwardian woman baking on Christmas day. Anyways I'm posting after Christmas now but this remains one of my favorite vintage inspired/cottagecore outfits of the month.

How to draft a Witch Hat

I love makeing witch hats. They are pretty simple to draft, and don't use too much fabric. so here are my instructions:

A = height of hat

B = circumference of head + 1 inch

C = radius of head (calculate from B)

D = C + width of brim

For the cone draw a circle with radius A, and measure B along outside.

For the brim make 2 circles with the same center point, with radius C and D.

Cut 1 of cone, and 2 of brim. I also like to line the cone with felt, and use canvas or something heavy to interface the brim.

Just inside the seam allowance of the brim, zigzag over a wire to help give the brim shape.

Right sides together, sew the side of the cone and the 2 brim pieces along the outside. Then sew the cone to the center of one of the brim pieces and flip it inside out. Then sew the bottom brim to the top in the center.
