(Aperently) Hot take, throwing away all our already purchased Starbucks cups is not the activism you think it is i can promise you. We are 100% not supporting Starbucks, but throwing them away for the sake of not owning the brand when you have already bought them is just feeding into the already dreading state of consumerism we live in + the climate crisis.
I keep seeing people getting shit for owning them when they were bought prior to the boycott. New cups and waterbottles are expensive considering, not everyone can afford to just drop 20-30 dollars on and actual decent waterbottle (a lot of the times more).
Spread information, donate when and if you can, educate people, go to protests, raise Palestinian voices. There are so many other things you can do with those cups than throw them away to rot in a landfill for 100s of years. That shit is generally not biodegradable, you are only making more problems.
You can re decorate those cups! Get rid of the logos and make something cool! If you had bought them before the boycott getting rid of them is litterly doing nothing but adding more waist. If you cannot think of any way to use them or recycle them properly give it to someone who can and/or will use it. Save Palestine 🇵🇸

Over 100 have been killed. Every single one of them hungry. Every single one of them has someone waiting for them to come back with the bag of flour.

People in Gaza have been saying this would happen since the very start, as soon as the occupation started corralling everyone into the southern part of the strip they said this would happen. We watched it happen as the “safe” zones grew smaller and smaller and every time Rafah was targeted by air strikes even before this. And no one who could actually stop this lifted a finger. It’s been 129 days.

For any hyper-empathy individuals like me who are struggling with their mental health, their ideals, their despair, as we receive updates from Palestine, or simply those who find themselves wondering if there's any point in trying to help.
This is for you.
I know it's hard. Maybe, like me, you feel like there's nothing you can do that would actually make an impact. Maybe you feel like there's nothing but evil in the world as you watch so many countries support genocide. Whatever it is, I can see it's tearing you apart and shattering you inside.
Don't give up hope. Hope is the most powerful weapon, and the enemy would love to see us lose it. If we lose hope, we lose any chance of winning. Be Pandora's box - cry, scream, punch a pillow, whatever you need to so you can release all the bad and let hope be what remains.
Every action counts. Say you have no money to spare, no way to attend a protest, no time to wheatpaste - that's ok. Boycott what you can and know that you've set them a few dollars back from their goal. Pray for our Palestinian siblings so that their voices can be lifted by the heavens. Drop an offhand comment here and there that will get people thinking and questioning. You could be the drop that overflows the bucket even if you don't see it.
Use your emotion if you can. Make people uncomfortable. Cry in a way they can't ignore. Rage in a way that draws attention to the problem. There's power in feeling deeply and strongly.
I love you and I know you are strong even if you cannot see it. Know that I am sitting next to you, crying with you, running my fingers through your hair to comfort.
