Please tell me that there are gay men in Arknights, I see far more lesbians than gay men and I feel a little envious.

No offense to lesbians, but if you gays (get it, gays instead of guys) are able enjoy a fine, three course meal of Margaret’s lesbian polycule, then I think that I can ask for a morsel of sexy queer men.

Are Elysium and Thorns a thing? Please tell that it’s a thing.

Unfortunately with the men outnumbered 1:8 (not actually accurate im just shotgunning a random number) the odds of finding a gay man who isnt 6 feet under from super rock cancer or in the stomach of some eldritch beast isn't great, on top of Arknights actually only very rarely having characters express romantic interest in anyone at all (as with most mobage, the fans do a lot of heavy lifting).

Elysium and Thorns get most of the yaoi fanworks because they're best friends and having two men who interact in Arknights who are both still alive is an actual rarity (sorry, multiple possibly queer men in Arknights who did not survive the end of their events). No romantic implications between them exist in the game. Elysium's a massive manwhore though so he probably fucked Thorns once. Maybe.

HOWEVER, there is the ultimate cheat code: the self-insert protagonist, who specifically hides inside a hood all day and never shows their face or names a hard gender identity due to the director specifically expressing that they wanted all players to be able to see themselves playing the Doctor.

If you are a man yourself, there is a male character who is obsessed with the protagonist: Enciodes Silverash. He's a haughty, arrogant, rich-as-fuck businessman who built his empire inside a deeply conservative, religious country, and he was built to be fanservice.

I'm not kidding like every anniversary event they do this thing where he gives you absurdly expensive (and probably extremely illegal) steak from an animal sacrificed for religious purposes. He fires his childhood friend and partner for you which starts a minor civil war. He's got all the fanservice lines (seriously just listen to him in English). He tries to kick out your daughter to monopolize you.

It's clearly cheating since Silverash was obviously made to appeal to women, but that's not stopped his small army of fans since 2020

look this is dumb as hell but i just want to appreciate arknights event names as of late. every single one of them is so fucking good. "Come Catastrophes or Wakes of Vultures" is a fucking banger, that sounds like a corporate slogan and it's perfect. "Where Vernal Winds Will Never Blow" absolutely kicks ass. But the best in my opinion is "Leaves Chasing Fire" which is straight up one of the best names to anything I have ever seen in my life. it's a monster hunter collab you guys could have half-assed it and just like, called it "Monsters to Hunt" or whatever, but they instead made an evocative statement that captures the essence of what monster hunter feels like to play - you're just a weak human, but yet you fight creatures that feel like they dwarf gods.
