Came up with some new lore about Shiun's body and how it works as a construct/vessel :]
As long as the Primordial Flame still burns inside him he will never die. He can't. No matter what happens to his body, he will get back up- sometimes in pieces. His body slowly regenerates over time, and can even regrow entire lost limbs or organs.
He finds this fun fact out for the first time when he is completely decapitated in Malikah's Well. At that point, the light corruption inside him had reached the stage where healing was completely ineffective. So, while he was technically still alive, he couldn't fix himself. They essentially sewed his head back on and hoped for the best. Through the rest of SHB, he couldn't eat, drink, or talk. He was practically a walking corpse- with gaping holes and wounds in his body that wouldn't heal and bled continuously.
Embarrassing photo from a Scion party sometime during ARR that resurfaces to haunt them occasionally. Taken back when they still hated each other (but they're both too wasted to care).
They still don't know who took the photo to this day, and no one will spill the beans.
Vulcan || Master of the Forge, Beastslayer, and Forbidden Keeper of the Primordial Flame.
A cold and apathetic man misunderstood by the people around him. Not a single one of them knew just how deep his ambition ran. Vulcan is one of those Azems who is only vaguely similar to his shards. He and Shiun don't have a lot in common, but Shiun's construction does contain a part of Vulcan's soul.
Kazumasa family picture yippeeee!!! Finally got around to designing them :]
Info under the cut.
Hikoyori Kazumasa (Mother) - A famous Doman poet known for her works about flowers and nature. She was a quiet storm, a tranquil pond with dangerous undercurrents. Shiun was closer to her, but she was strict and tolerated no failure. She would only praise him or give him affection when she thought he'd earned it.
Tsuji Kazumasa (Father) - A well known author that wrote short stories about old Doman legends, and had a novel series that was never finished. He had a lot of pride, and was pretty classist. He was just as strict as Hikoyori, and his punishments were harsh.
Shiun was very sheltered growing up in the wealthy Kazumasa clan, and was rarely allowed to leave the grounds of their mansion. They believed he was a young writing prodigy, and attempted to force him into following the path they set before him at every turn.
it is an often-repeated fact that alphinaud and alisaie are the youngest entrants to the studium ever at age 12, and like it's crazy that these infants got into harvard, but the narrative does not seem to remember/notice/care that thancred was an archon by 17 (he has the archon marks in the 1.0 ul'dah start flashbacks, where minfilia's 12 and he's 17). also he got picked up by louisoix as "an adolescent" so he had spent at most 7 years in sharlayan by the time he got his PhD in "espionage and survival". SHAKES HIM. WHAT DID THEY DO TO YOU LITTLE MAN. WHAT DID YOU GET UP TO IN SHARLAYAN SPY SCHOOL. DID THEY MAKE YOU A TOOL, BOY. DID THEY HONE YOU INTO THEIR SHARP OBJECT
