Make a wish (Alfie Solomons x Tommy Shelby)
Summary: That February 14, Alfie and Tommy are enjoying their first Valentine's day together. A dinner date, a ship trip through the Thames... And a shooting star that, maybe, can make their wishes come true.
Warnings: Mentions of homophobia, but it's mostly fluff.
Words: 600. || Valentine's masterlist.
2017.
Valentine's Day and all the cheesiness around that day was not something Tommy particularly enjoyed. It was more the work of society making people feel more lonely than other times of the year or else be forced to spend extra money on their special someone. But Alfie didn't think like him.
His boyfriend had placed an order at a fancy restaurant for that night and that morning Tommy had woken up only to find a dreamy breakfast with a rainbow cake baked by Alfie himself.
It was the first Valentine's Day they had shared together. Tommy was supposed to do something for him too, but he didn't know what. He used to settle his previous partners with expensive gifts and a night of sex and then vanish for several days. But Alfie wasn't like his other partners. He loved Alfie.
In a world dominated by heterosexuality, there were more than a few looks of disgust when they sat down at the table in that restaurant. But Alfie himself was scary if he wanted to be, and the look on Tommy's face when he was upset, made more than a few people consider not saying anything. And that's exactly what happened: nothing. Not even when they kissed briefly. If people were upset, they preferred not to say. After all, they were a couple celebrating February 14, just like any other.
Tommy finally revealed to Alfie that his gift to him, was a boat ride on the Thames. There was no room, they had told him but they couldn't resist the amount of money he offered and suddenly, magically, there was room for the two of them.
The cold but windless night was ideal for them. Especially for Tommy who was comfortably settled in Alfie's arms. Unlike the restaurant, no one seemed to mind that the two of them were together. Everyone was having fun with their partner or group of friends. The laughter of some girls could be heard throughout the ship.
The music invited everyone to go dancing, but the two of them stayed there.
"Make a wish," Tommy said to Alfie. From the bow of the ship, they were both looking up at the sky when a shooting star crossed the dark, cold night.
Alfie chuckled and looked at his partner "Since when do you believe in wishing upon a star?"
"Since I need to believe in something more than what you see. If not fucking God or your God, or life itself, then let the wish-fulfiller be a shooting star."
"Sounds good to me. But it will be to the next star because this one is long gone."
It wasn't long before a new one appeared in the dark English sky. Tommy was very clear about what he wanted. It wasn't money, it wasn't power, he already had that. What he wanted was peace. As cliche as it sounded.
When he looked back at Alfie, saw he had his eyes on him, "Did you make your wish?"
"I did. Did you?" Tommy wanted to know.
"No, fuckin' ridiculous. I got everything I want, what more can I wish for?"
Tommy smiled slightly. "I love you, Alfie."
"Me too, Tommy," the other man replied pulling him close to kiss him.
In the background, the city seemed far away from them. Or maybe they were the ones far away from the city. On another planet. On one where there was only them, the shooting stars and all the wishes they both hoped would come true.

@whentommymetalfie Damnitt can you please hand me some tissues because you keep on breaking my heart (and I love it, you are so ridiculously talented) I hope you'll keep on going with this one! ❤️🥰
Tommy is not sure how he’s ended up here. On the surface it appears like a dream, the penthouse in Soho, the successful husband who never misses an opportunity to spoil him, a life full of expensive dinners and parties. But beneath the glimmering surface lies a darkness unlike anything else.
One late night in an overcrowded ER, he meets someone who finally sees him. And from that moment on, something changes.
Sequel to 'All for Nothing'
Pairings: Established Tommy/Luca, eventual Tommy/Alfie
Warnings: Domestic violence, emotional/psychological abuse, gaslighting, manipulation, eating disorders
