what gives you hope for the future?
there’s this word i accidentally stumbled upon a little while ago, meliorism. it’s the belief the world could be improved with human effort, and for some reason it just struck me in a way i can’t describe. lately, everything’s falling apart in both my life and the world, so yeah, it’s hard to assure myself that tomorrow will be better.
but there are all these little, seemingly insignificant things in life that’s so easy to gloss over. things like hearing laughter or a stranger passing by with a cheerful “good morning!” in the streets. or seeing someone help another person, or an simple yet still uplifting text message from your friend. even things like this fandom—these tiny pockets of everyday joy are brought to life through the inherent kindness and goodness of people, and so i believe humans can be the change needed to make the world better, even if it’s just one smile or word at a time. that’s what gives me hope for the future.

listen it’s been a year and i still cant get over that cold open like can we break this down please
they didn’t go to bed dressed, bc they try to use it as an aha! moment, which means that at some point before 3am on two separate occasions jake and amy woke up to get dressed and fell back asleep
not only did he get dressed but jake also made eggs and snuck them back into their bed?? okay buddy
and somehow after all that holt broke into their bedroom and sat there and watched them sleep
and foUND THE EGGS UNDER THE BLANKET (WHAT WERE U TRYING TO DO CAPTAIN???) AND A T E THEM??
so when amy woke up she perched on her side right and holt was just already there waITING SILENTLY FOR THE PRIME MOMENT??
HOW LONG DID THEY WAIT IN SILENCE FOR JAKE TO WAKE UP????
and i just need to speculate for a moment what do u think happened next? did they all spend a nice morning together???? did they glare at each in silence over coffee?? what are we meant to assume
