#tbt When @cassandrabellstudios initially called me about taking the part as the Heart 💜 in The Survivor’s Monologue I was excited and afraid at the same time. To be a part of a movement that knocks on the door to the pain that affects so many people, including my own, was frightening and yet I said yes. Being a part of this production has been therapeutic for my own pain. As a child I witnessed my mother being beat down by the hands of men she claimed to love including my own father. I would cry trying to comfort her only to be pushed away because the bruises on her body made my touch too intense. I went through life vowing to never allow myself to become “silly” as she did so I blocked my heart extremely. Only to wake up one day realizing that I had fallen into the same cycle of abuse that my mother did by the actions of someone I gave my heart to. It took me a long time to understand the difference between being a #survivor rather than someone’s victim.🙌🏾🙌🏾 God has a way of putting us in position with other individuals that can lift our hurt. Good morning Children of God! Happy Friday. 🙌🏾☀️💪🏽 Take time this weekend asking Our Creator to reveal your weaknesses. Request a progress report on the things that you have previously submitted to Him. Pray for clarity about your purpose. Make the decision that whatever is confirmed that you will accept it as truth and move expeditiously in His will to fix it. Don’t fear the temptations of the world rather you pray for the strength to overcome them. We must humble ourselves before God at ALL times in EVERYTHING that we do or the world will be the cause of our destruction. Do not fall asleep in the mist of God’s movement. There is something unique each and everyone of us have to do before we are departed from this earth and it CAN NOT be accomplished until we are humble before God’s throne. Amen! What is stopping you from submitting to God’s will?! Is it fear that you may lose something or someone? Do you feel that you may have time later but as of now you want to party like a rock start? Are you afraid of being laughed at or rejected? Are you at a place in life that you feel that you don’t need to be “spiritual” and can make it through on your own? There are so many reasons why we wouldn’t ask God to examine us. But it all boils down to we don’t want the truth. The truth hurts sometimes especially when we have beloved lies for so long. A deceiver has encouraged you to believe that all of your excuses are enough reason to keep you away from the grace of God. I am proof that those lies will catch up with you and one day the reflection you see will disgust your core. Reject the lies and submit to truth. Allow God to examine your heart.
