Kabru maybe being a canary adjunct, or maybe just someone on the mainland who heard the rumors of a Dungeon Master who ousted the legal governor and set up on the surface—no one has ever done that before, it can’t be good, everybody outside is terrified and nobody knows what to do—Kabru decides that he’s going to do something about it, and by something, he means murder

And then he gets there and Laios is like :) hi :) do you like my monster town? We have lots of new immigrants because there’s food here. Oh you were helping those refugees settle a dispute? oh thank GOD come help me settle more disputes. Can I just leave this all to you? Okay great remind me your name again

I'm listening to the Lupin vs Sherlock Holmes novel rn and

It's so funny, I do recommend

I felt a sudden motivation to try and finish the great ace attorney chronicles

I love that the Leblanc estate went after Lupin III for stealing the Arsene Lupin name 60 years after Leblanc straight up lifted Sherlock Holmes, mercilessly made fun of both him and Watson, and then had to change his name to Herlock Sholmes as like. The bare minimum nod at copyright law. Just the hypocrisy of it lmao

i derive so much joy from all these angry Sherlock Holmes fans

Probably this is beginner's hubris but I feel like I've spent my whole life being told that it's so so so hard to learn Chinese and now that I have steeled myself and entered the fray with Cantonese it's like ?? This is fine?? Like yes there are 6 tones and my gf is always telling me I'm not going low enough on half of them, but you know what ELSE

no verb conjugation

No gendered nouns to memorize

Possessive and plural pronouns handled with an easy suffix

Words are made out of other words so you can scale vocabulary up pretty fast

I think if I hadn't been so convinced it was going to be impossible I probably would've started years ago. This is def harder than German as an English native speaker, but I'm finding it much easier than Spanish

oh GOSH this is really going with my recent mags/sixshot binge (to whatever extent it can be called a binge when you can't actually read most of the fic). Deadlock would be so snippy and combative as the pool boy, mags charmed but scrupulously polite and meanwhile sixshot is pushing stuff into the oil pool so he can watch deadlock bend over
