We’re keeping things small and manageable due to my chronic illness, so there are only a handful of pieces up currently. I will be adding more and slowly updating the shop over the coming month.

It’s been really difficult trying to find a balance with having a shop, and being disabled. I’ve come to realise that having a website shop with big seasonal launches isn’t manageable for me, and that’s okay! I still want to have an Art Shop and create unique Jewellery pieces, and I can, it just has to look a little bit smaller than what is ‘normal’ or what I initially had in mind and have been trying and failing to do over the past year or so.

So here she is, my little shop, that I’m ever so excited to cultivate and slowly add pieces to, and update you all along the way.

against AI in the sense of "we stole artwork from hundreds to thousands of artists, didn't credit them and didn't financially compensate them"

Something that’s either mildly interesting or completely unproductive, is that since I started my Patreon, I’ve been posting my art to there and really enjoying it, but I’ve also been hoarding it there and not posting it elsewhere.

Honestly I feel like Patreon is this gorgeous little bubble and I feel so safe to post my thoughts, musings, and ideas there. The only other social media that feels remotely like that is tumblr. Instagram is borderline a hostile environment where I take critical damage every time I venture on the app.

But in doing this, in hoarding my art like a Patreon dragon, I’ve amassed quite a few pieces that I adore that haven’t seen the light of day yet. And it’s so strange because I do want to post them, and I will, but it just feels like this beautiful little secret. It reminds me of being a kid and teenager and drawing magical worlds just for my own imaginary adventures, for no other purpose than creativity and escape. And in a digital environment of social media, algorithms, and statistics, I almost feel like I want to protect my creations from that world.

It’s like she casts a spell on me when new photos are released, I’m compelled to draw her.

stop playing it cool, just be passionate and intense and insane and whoever sticks around is meant for you
