Nigel could have been better at saying goodbyes, especially after one-night stands. He would arise very early and quietly slip away as though nothing had happened, no strings attached. This morning though he’d found himself waking up quite late. 

Nigel was doing up his belt when he heard Kekipi move in the bed. Oh damn, he was caught escaping. 

‘’Uh, yeah. Unfortunately,’’ he purposefully avoided looking at Kekipi. ‘’Business errands,’’ he added before moving to get his shirt from the other side of the room. It was only when Kekipi moved to get out of bed herself, Nigel turned to look towards her direction. Was there an invitation somewhere between the lines? He wasn’t sure. 

‘’Breakfast?’’

“  i gotta go, sorry.  ” (yolo!)

Kekipi softly groaned as they stretched out in their bed, looking over at Nigel when he spoke. They chuckle softly, pushing themself up so they were propped up on their elbows.

"Aw, gotta leave so soon?" They playfully pouted, poking out their bottom look and giving puppy eggs to him. The facade then washes away as they snicker, slightly bowing their head a little. "If you gotta go, you gotta go. No skin off of my back," they hum, getting out of bed to put on a t-shirt or tank top. The only thing they were wearing at the moment was their boy shorts.

Nigel let out a small laugh at her words, not quite agreeing with her. ‘’Oh but you do not know me that well,’’ he paused a moment. He thought about what she said, there was truth there. Many misunderstood him and it was many reasons why Nigel often lost patience with everyone surrounding him.

 ‘’Perhaps,’’ he finally said before leaning more into his seat. ‘’What about yourself? Where do you fit in all of it?’’

The statement was met with puzzlement on Ambrosine's part, an ashen brow cocked and tilted head expressed her confusion.

"But why? You've been quite pleasant so far." She commented, holding the stem on the wine glass gingerly in her hand, watching briefly at the sanguine liquid swirling in the crystal confinement. "Maybe they're not a fit for you."

Stepping away from her, he frisked the pocked of his shirt to find a pen. ‘’Come here,’’ Nigel took her hand and gently drew a small heart on her wrist. ‘’There.’’

‘’Morbid? Nah,’’ Nigel shook his head in disagreement with her. Nigel too looked up from his newspaper before setting it aside. ‘’They write all sorts in newspapers these days,’’ Nigel rested his head against the pillow. ‘’Oh come on, not all of it is crap surely?’’
