I think the reason why it works is Sentinel also himself. Characters like Optimus, Bumblebee or Bulkhead are really easy for the internet to infantilize since people immediately equel their positive traits, which, due to them being 'the good guys' are more prominent compared to their negative traits, to "pure cinnamon roll". That’s something that happens less to Sentinel due to him being showed as a more flawed person in the show.

Anyways, really like the idea of the ship! Definitely a good source for some really fun ideas! 💙⭐

I don't usually like to compared ships but personally think Senstar(or whatever Sentinel X Starscream ship is called) is ten times a lot more fun than Starop since similar to Megop, Starop have the major problem of infantilized one character for the other character to protect to the point they have no agency of their own and need the other character to protect them all the time which unintentionally disrespect both characters in the progress.

Senstar on the other hand doesn't seen don't have this problem since it pairing two characters that are somewhat controversial one way or another way. which made it a far more compelling enemy to lovers ship to me especially if it during the whole arresting cons on earth.

Do you know how funny it be if they both have a crush or at least develop a crush on each other and they don't understand or are very frustrated to why they can't take this one guy down for their own cause.

Maybe them being forced to work together to get out of a specific place, not wanting to talk to each other at all the whole time but having no choice since turn out cave slience is very unbearable to both of them, maybe finding out a bit about each other and Starscream maybe flirting with Sentinel a bit since he does find Sentinel a bit attractive and Sentinel is just like: ???? * angry Bisexual confusion* or maybe Sentinel just suck up the flirting at first since he does like the praise then he's like "wait a minute you're a con" and immediately go back to hating every moment of basically being trapped with the enemy and being unable to to killed him for some reason. Him acting like he didn't just enjoy the praise a minute ago and no he definitely not blushing a bit! He is since he also find Starscream attractive too .

I don't know I just find this ship very fun to explore since it not like Optimus where he see the good in everyone even Starscream or whatever...and you can already to see where this is going.. Senstar is a bit more unpredictable.

I was lucky to not stumble across such works where TFA! Optimus is infantilized too much (though it could mostly be just because I, in general, don't look through megop stuff as much as I do with some other ships) or had to be protected by Megatron. Most stuff I came across just had TFA! Optimus be towards Megatron like something along the lines of:

Ironically, I've seen more infantilization of TFP! Optimus in megop (and not even like the Orion Pax, which would make at least a bit sense since the show itself portrayed this stage of Optimus's life being very naive, no, it was specifically the version of the bot where he's already a Prime and has gone through the war), despite the fact this version of the character is supposed is even more mature of a person than the tfa one!

Nothing against Megaop but the worst part of the ship is definitely the infantilization of Optimus prime. This a grown ass adult can fight but he's turn into a crybaby that need protection by Megarton and I hate that alot since it's so annoying to me to see Optimus act like he have nobody else to turn to depsite the fact he have a whole group of friends behind him that support and care and him like what is this.

It not just Tfa. The ship in general have this problem in any other transformers media and this problem needs to be killed off with a a shotgun. Optimus doesn't need Megaton's protection. Honestly It be funnier if it was the other way around and Optimus is just so done with Megatron constantly crying out for his help and want to leave to watch a movie but can't since you know he can't just leave him there.

I think the reason why the TFA writers pit Bumblebee and Sentinel against each other because if they get along for like one second they be a unstoppable pranking duo that somehow killed Megarton by compete accident since under different circumstances these two would probably be besties.

That's honestly a great idea for the inspiration of their dynamic!

Sentinel prime to Ultra Magnus: SIR! Jetfire and Jetstorm are making a title sentence!!

Still think it's better than Prime plot-wise (TFA's storyline throughout its existing seasons is pretty functional and many of the events are connected in a way that should you try to alter them, you need to take into consideration how the other events will be affected by it while TFP is built on numerous "and then" and has a handful of storylines that either don't go anywhere or they are so messy or unnecessary they can be cut out and literally *nothing* would change) and, in certain cases, character-wise (TFA! Bulkhead >>>> TFA! Bulkhead, no one can change my mind.)

The only thing that I believe is that people care more about the concept of tranfromers animated than the actual show itself and I don't blame them to be honest. This show have problems and I don't blame people for not liking it or thinking that it not the best continuity.

I'm onboard with you on pretty much everything here, exept for the Megarton not having any compelling reasons for the war point. I'm personally not a fan when the shows that clearly understand how to make complex and nuisanced stories still choose to make the face of one of the sides a definitive douchebag from start to finish in a serious conflict like this. And, for me, the notions of Megatron potentially having been a victim of the system in one way or another is one of the many aspects in the show that contributes to making the confrontation between the fractions less black-and-white. Though, I do agree that making Autobots "the actual bad guys" isn't appealing, because it simply shifts the villainization just as far to the other side. The fact that Megatron's methods of persuing his goals are in no way justified by the supposedly originally good reasons still must remain evident!

My personal thoughts regarding Megatron: he did originally start this war as a rebel trying to change the system for better and promised fellow cons a new life, but very soon into the war, he got a taste of power, his priorities changed into a selfish desire to just get a position of leadership of all other Cybertronians for himself and brainwashed a great majority of his army into being unconditionally loyal to him.

The only things I really want for tfa:

-Sentinel getting a redemption arc and actually slowly rebuilding his relationship with op and maybe apologizing for how he act towards the rest of the op's team. Maybe actually explore deeper into his trauma and side of the story that isn't just a quick glance of him looking sad and never addressing it.

-Jetfire and Jetstorm developing different personalities and actually having focusing on them instead of focusing on people dealing with them or adopting them. Let the story actually be about them and at least having some kind of agency and for them to find their own paths.

- Megarton isn't a miner or have some of backstory that make the autobots the actual "bad guys". He only doing this for war money and power .

- Ultra Magnus is and stayed dead

-Beachcomber doesn't dies and developed a unlike friendship with Sentinel. (I don't know why but I think it be funny as hell if these two become friends somehow depsite being complete opposite)

-the a episode where Blurr actually interact with the rest of the elite guard members and we see his dynamic and releasonship with them.
