Adderall: 💊 . I did not want to go on this…my therapist asked me why and I told him because it makes me thinks of a scummy 16 yo trying to pass highschool. He then Asked why I felt like that- and I replied “because I was a scummy 16 yo who took adderall to pass highschool” lbvs! . But I talked with him and I spoke with my wife and I Need the energy. I’m not that 16 yo anymore and I have a legitimate medical condition that makes me exhausted. . A “legitimate medical condition “…this is something I forget is true (maybe I just don’t want to?) but either way I started taking one of these in the AM and…wow… . 30 mg and my life seems changed. I can accomplish things, I have drive again it’s amazing. Honestly I still feel “dirty” for taking it but even if it’s temporary, it was the best decision to go back to work. I feel like I have 25% of the old me back! …then my mind goes to thinking “ya you have it back because of this drug”…so this internal struggle may continue but at least I have some of the old me back. Back To Work:👨‍💻📈📊👨‍💼 . 60 days…that’s the number of days I took short term disability. Today is my first day back. My anxiety is through the roof. At first I thought it was work in itself, but I honestly do better mentally when I’m working (or have projects etc.). . I think the real reason is when a “normal” person takes off work for being sick or injury- they go back to work once 💯. I do not feel 💯. Massage: For fathers day this year my wife and daughter got me a massage. I’ve never had one and finally booked it for yesterday. While getting it, I loved it. I couldn’t believe I waited so long to book this! . Moving to today, I feel like I paid to get my shoulders beat up! From the little research I did to see if this was normal, it indicated it was. Google said to look at it like a workout meaning the longer between the more your muscles will be sore. . This may have been another thing to add to my #shittyday today, which lead to me flipping out/breaking down, and then just feeling defeated and exhausted. . Insomnia: This was me at 7:00 am today (📸: My 6 yo)…as tired as I get and even with muscle relaxers (4mg total), my insomnia kept me up until 3:30 AM…awake at 6:30 am to help get my daughter ready and take her to school. This is how I was while waiting to take her to school. . Of all the things I don’t understand about this disease, insomnia is…I just don’t get. Woke up this morning and the first thing I did after dropping my daughter off at school was watch the @selmablair new documentary. I’ve always loved movies, film and especially documentaries- for the rawness I think. However I have such a connection with MS films now and this one is no exception. As always I come away with viewing materials such as this with mixed feelings. I watch, I relate, I cry, I laugh and I look inward. What those thoughts bring, I’m not sure. Many people on here have commented or messaged me asking what medications I am on. See the weekly fun above! 😝 . Am: 10 mg Delfampradine (Ampyra), 37.5 mg Venlaflaxine, 300 mg Gabapentin . Noon: 5000 iu vitamin D, 0.4 mg Tamsulosin, 300 mg Gabapentin . PM: m: 10 mg Delfampradine (Ampyra), 300 mg Gabapentin, 2-4 mg Tizanidine . This does not include any multivitamin, allergy pills, Tylenol/ Ibuprofen that I take as well. I have stopped drinking alcohol since my stomach already has a lot going on with these. . Having a hard fucking time.. I don’t feel like myself these days. I’m either exhausted, crying, or lashing out at everyone- or some combination…I feel horrible as my wife takes the brunt of it. I don’t want to be like that, like this. But I honestly feel like a shell of who I am just making it to the next day. . . For the first time in my life I knew I needed therapy. Well tbh I don’t like the idea, but I’ll try anything at this point. The first place I called wasn’t taking new patients- I called another place in network and they will get back to me to schedule an appointment in 2-8 weeks.. . I know I’ve mentioned on here Before I am a bit of a control freak and not having control over how my body, life and mind are changing is getting to me. I’ve always dealt with issues one way or another but I feel lost this time.
