Man oh man how I love this movie. Screw you. Screw all of you, I’m not ashamed. My mother taped it for me one day in 1986, when I was nine. What a genius move. It changed everything. School wasn’t the same afterwards—in my head it was Rydell High during an everlasting Summer. All my schoolmates were recast as Grease characters.
I remember pausing the screen at the end every few frames so I could look at all the yearbook photos. That’s how obsessed I was.
You know, when you’re young, you think you’re going to be Danny and Sandy. As you get older, you’d settle for Kenickie and Rizzo. But in the end you realize you’re just one of those background characters at the fairground.
