The Titanoboa, is a 48ft long snake dating from around 60-58million years ago. It had a rib cage 2ft wide, allowing it to eat whole crocodiles, and surrounding the ribcage were muscles so powerful that it could crush a rhino. Titanoboa was so big it couldn’t even spend long amounts of time on land, because the force of gravity acting on it would cause it to suffocate under its own weight.

Don’t let people make fun of you for liking japanese culture.
I am living in japan right now and let me tell ya:
There are people here who can’t speak or understand English who play nothing but Missy elliot and ludacris, even in businesses like housing offices and restaurants.
There are people who have cowboy hats and dead cow skulls in their home because they idolize what they assume American homes are like.
There are people who learn English strictly through music videos and American television shows.
There are entire karaoke bars with english songs often sung by people who have no idea what the lyrics mean.
Japan often takes American shows like the powerpuff girls and make japanese versions of them.
They often mistake common Americans for celebrities. I have been mistaken for Micheal jordan, tiger woods, Shaquille o'neal, Tyler perry, and saddest of all: queen latifa.
The act of sprinkling English into your japanese sentences is considered cute and cool and is popular with teenagers. Bonus points if you happen to use it correctly.
Japanese stores sell shirts with english on them and people buy them not knowing that most of those word combinations are nonsense.
Don’t let someone shame you for singing an anime opening, using japanese in your sentences, wearing clothing with japanese on it, ect. If anything, this is just one more thing that you have in common with them.

"I want to start reading Superman."
"All copies of issue number 1 cost $50k, and are untouchable, good luck reading one."
Manga cost approximately $9.99-$12.99 per Volume.
I was thinking about why I prefer to read manga over American comics (as in, monthly serialized comics) and, putting aside opinions about the “quality” of either medium, I think the reason why is because I have absolutely no idea how American comics work.
Say you’re a complete noob to manga. You don’t know shit about it. But that One Piece thing you saw on TV looks really cool and you want to read it. Where do you start? Volume 1 and go from there.
But imagine the same situation but with comics. You just saw the new Spiderman movie and now you got a craving for more like it. Where do you begin? Well, no one knows because there’s been 901823434^34 different iterations of the character for decades.
With manga, there’s usually one guy (and maybe a team of artists under them to help) working on it. Even if it goes on for years or may switch leads, there’s usually some “consistency” to keep everything in check. With American comics on the other hand, it’s the complete opposite: you have multiple different writers and artists, each contributing their own take on the character: alternate timelines, alternate motifs, etc etc. It’s all a big clusterfuck to me and I have no idea how anyone can keep track of it all.

can we take a second to ponder on the fact that a kids movie did lady armor better than the entire film and comic industry
guess who i’m talking about
did you guess? Well you’re fucking WRONG because it’s Susan goddamn Pevensie
Tumblr media
They gave her light armor, appropriate for a small archer:chainmail, an arm brace, chest plate, and a light skirt she can easily run around murderizing dudes in the face in
her hair is also only loose in the promo pictures because Susan is fucking busy not dying because her hair was flying into her eyeballs so she braids that shit back
Tumblr media
her mail shirt is also loose enough that it doesn’t impede her arm movements it’s almost like she’s dressed for a fight wow
Tumblr media
I like the pinks and purples under her bitchin as hell leather armor here, because you don’t have to be masculine to shoot someone in the goddamn face

Heard some important information on Twitter today, and thought I’d post it here for anyone who may not have heard it. This is actually a thing, devised by human rights organisation called Karma Nirvana.

I thought that my body was floating in the air, but it was the hard floor. For quite a while, I didn’t feel anything. My whole body was just so unbearably heavy that I could not even open my eyes. I couldn’t swallow my spit or even breathe. As my consciousness began to scatter, gradually my surroundings grew faint.
Like that, just as if I was shocked by something, my whole body began to thrash in fits. Amidst untraceable pain and thirst, I involuntarily opened my eyes. Beyond my sight that was strained just as if my eyes were filled with sand, something glittered. I thought it was the light, but it was not. It was bright, large, and faint. It floated in the air without moving. Looking at it for a while, that object gradually began to take a definite form. It was the moon.
Maybe my head was bent backwards, but the world was upside down. In that world, the moon was upside down too. I tried to breathe and cough, but I couldn’t move. And then the cold came. I was scared. My mouth would slightly move, but no words came out. I didn’t even close my eyes but it was getting darker in front of me. As my consciousness drifted further away, someone spoke to me.
“Living is more painful than dying, but you still want to live?”

“Surviving Theater 9” tells the true story of writer, director, actor Tim McGrath during the midnight screening of “The Dark Night Rises” in Aurora Colorado on July 20, 2012. McGrath survived an extraordinarily traumatic event, like hundreds of others in our country, and decided to tell the story with his fellow survivors like Kim Woodruff, a Columbine survivor and Jacob Garrett, Aurora survivor who was 11-years-old at the time of the shooting. In the film, viewers begin to see how survivors attempt to cope, experience PTSD and make efforts to heal, all while showcasing the many resources and outlets where survivors can begin to rebuild.
