Hello! I just got the Steven universe comic cherished memories and I saw your cover art of issue 36 in the back of the comic and I just absolutely fell in love with the art!! The background paintings of all the gems just oh my!! I love it so much I’d love stickers or prints or anything of those paintings!!! I’m not rich but I’d pay whatever I could if it’s something that could be commissioned? I’d just so love to have em for my Steven shelf!! Anyways also just wanted to show some love for amazing art! <3

Wow, thank you so much! I'm so glad you like my work, that means a lot. I got a couple Tumblr questions about buying some of my Steven Universe art recently, so I hope you don't mind me answering publicly. Since my SU art is all officially done for BOOM! Studios and Cartoon Network, they own 100% of the rights to the images and have sold them in the past at Hottopic and on the CN online store, on things like mugs and shirts. I don't know if they still have anything available though. For legal reasons, I cannot make stickers or prints of any of it, not even a 1-off for free, (and no I did not see any profits from those sales. They do this to every cover artist - not really a complaint, just a sad fact). I'm not usually open for personal commissions, and they're admittedly quite expensive. I have a 5-9 where I draw all day for a game company, so it takes a lot for me to set aside my limited personal drawing time for someone else's project. Thanks for your question though, for understanding, and thanks again for your enthusiasm in my work. #36 was my last SU cover and I really liked doing all the little background paintings in that one. :)

Extremely soft announcement that after five years, I'll be launching another pin KickStarter in March 2023! Still working out the deets, but here they are: The Find Familiar Pin Collection!

All of the animal familiar pin designs are done, and files for holographic die-cut stickers are done too!! I've just got a couple more things to design, (maybe a witch / summoner / beast master pin and a nice illustration card for backers) but I'm looking forward to making lots of new fantasy merch in 2023! I’ll be updating progress as the launch approaches so if you’re interested, it’d make me very happy to have you follow along!

SCAM ALERT!! This Time Magazine / Told Magazine Inc / Interest Magazine Inc / Red Game Magazine / New Media International / High Alliance Magazine are scams targeting vulnerable creatives. 

They lure you in with a very professionally worded email promising an interview with their magazine, saying you were nominated for it by one of your followers. Their website is also very professional on the surface, but if you look closely you’ll notice weird things about it. Lots of photoshopped stock photos of models wearing their logo, no real content or articles, blurry images of text where articles might be.

If you say yes, they send you a link to a questionnaire where they get your personal information, along with some questions about your art peppered in. Then they’ll ask you for money so they can mail you a copy of the magazine with your interview when it’s out, and that’s where the biggest part of the scam is. Once you send them money, they disappear.

I made it to the interview phase before going NAH, (I asked them a ton of questions about where the heck their articles were and why their magazine didn’t appear in any Google searches - they ignored me and just sent their next copy/paste email in the scam - a real editor would’ve addressed my questions). Then I found more artists talking about this scam on Twitter, but I haven’t seen anything about it on Tumblr. So, here you go.

There’s a lot of scams aimed at creatives right now because many us are more vulnerable than ever in the age of covid. Of course I’d love a sweet interview to boost my online shop sales while my entire convention schedule is canceled. But we can outsmart them by doing research, asking questions, and warning others.

[ 07/03/2020 EDIT ] Since this post is now the 3rd or 4th result from Google searching for Told Magazine Inc, I though I’d update it with everything else that happened since making it to continue exposing them for the scam they are.

Hope this helps a ton of people not get scammed!! Please warn others, have each other’s backs, and don’t get tricked by these jerks!!

[ 08/24/2020 EDIT ] This scam is back with a new name - Interest Magazine, Interest Magazine Inc, The Interest Magazine, Red Game Magazine, and Red Game Magazine Inc. Don’t get fooled.
