So, both in the last episode of Season 1 and first episode of Season 2, that street sign is not there. It doesn't say Berwick either, but there's just no sign there. Haven't found this sign in any of the actual episodes yet, but I assume it'll appear at some point later in Season 2.
Hi Neil,
I loved the new season, but I have a quick question: The meeting/ball is called Whickber Street Shopkeepers and Street Traders Association, but I thought the bookshop was on Berwick Street, so was it just the tradespeople who developed it having fun or something more dramatic?
Thanks!
No, it's on Whickber Street.

Has anyone gone back to Season 1 to check the street sign to see if @neil-gaiman is really gaslighting us? Because if he is, it's a massive clue about how the Book of Life works - if Season 1 still contains the truth, then Aziraphale's diaries still contain the truth and can be used to restore the original timeline (the one in which he maybe wouldn't have refused a kiss...). The biggest clue to Season 2 being written by Metatron is in episode titles: they're called Chapters for some reason now. They were not in Season 1. The second biggest clue to me is Crowley's appearance in the Job minisode. Third one is that the minisodes all have to do with resurrection and Metatron is planning a second coming, which presumably would involve one? So my guess is he maybe only edited the past, not yet the present. But editing the past changed the present enough to get him what he wanted. But if the Book of Life only works by taking out people, not altering events, then who did he take out?

It did feel off, but I realised it was because I had not really thought through Tolkien's timelines properly. I was like "surely they couldn't have found out about Sauron before forging the rings, only after, otherwise they wouldn't have forged them at all". But there's a reason they forged them in secret and that's exactly because they realised who had been advising them (yet we can also presume throughout lotr that Sauron is actually aware these rings exist, even if he has no power over them).
some of this lore feels…off
the show has not felt like that until now

Oh s**t. The song is foreshadowing. Eddie is going to swap places with Chrissy and remain in the Upside Down, playing guitar to Vecna (until he turns human again?). Possibly also Nancy with Barb?
IF I ONLY COULD, I’D MAKE A DEAL WITH GOD, AND I’D GET HIM TO SWAP OUR PLACES. BE RUNNING UP THAT ROAD, BE RUNNING UP THAT HILL, BE RUNNING UP THAT BUILDING, IF I ONLY COULD, OH.

So, we all agree that the "i'll take a shower" is Nurmi's clumsy attempt to get her to join him, as she had mentioned wanting a shower before, right?

Nurmi and Karppi stay at a hotel after a bomb exploded in Nurmi’s apartment.
(In case someone is confused about the timeline, this and the next couple of gif sets take place before the incident between Karppi and Nurmi.)

Omg, Neil Gaiman was already my hero because of all the books (and GO on TV), but the fact that he knows Kratt is Estonian and Estonia is Northern Europe and cares enough to explain the difference, makes him a God among men. I hope he has seen the excellently weird Estonian movie "November" about Kratts. If not, I highly recommend, I think it would be his thing and it's very internationally accessible. It's based on a very funny book "Rehepapp", which unfortunately hasn't been translated into English (it is into French). There's also a very recent movie "Kratt" that explores the modern connections to robotics and automation as Estonia is a startup nation, but I haven't seen that one yet.
So In feet of clay, is there a reason sir terry pratchett chose to use golems as opposed to another mythical automaton? For example, the kratt is another Eastern European option. Why a golem specifically?
First of all, the kratt is an Estonian story, not Eastern European. Estonia is in Northern Europe, near Finland. Golems are from Jewish mythology, and not Eastern European.
It's obviously hard to speak for Terry, given that he's dead and we never really chatted about Golems vs kratts specifically, but I would hazard a guess that the reason that Terry wrote a book called Feet of Clay about Golems is because he wanted to, and got to explore Jewish/Yiddish myth in his own way, and the power of the written word, not to mention do some Yiddish jokes, and so the Golem lore allowed him to tell his story in a fashion that say kratt [who aren't made of clay, thus losing the book's punning title, but from household objects, and are brought to life by giving the Devil three drops of blood and not by writing things and/or placing writing in or on their heads, thus losing more of the book's themes, and who have to keep working and need to be given impossible tasks to destroy them] wouldn't have. Also, most people have heard of golems, but I had to stop and check kratt, and I couldn't name any other mystical automatons that would work in a Discworld setting that would have given Terry that plot.
Why this and not that is a hard enough question for any living author. I don't think it's answerable for a dead author. But I hope this has given you something to think about.

Everyone's going "season 3!", but I'm out here with Book 1?!!!??????!!!!!!
Hi Mr Gaiman! I was just wondering, did you ever discuss a sequel with Terry while he was still alive? And if so has it influenced how you’re writing season two now?
Yes.
Yes. Although the sequel discussed was the hypothetical Season 3. Season 2 is how we get from the end of Season 1 to the place where we could start Season 3. And the sequel discussions also influenced Season 1. (You will find no angels in Book 1, for example. I borrowed them back from the sequel and put them in earlier.)

I was baffled as to why Karppi would suddenly forgive and kiss him later in the season, but rewatching these gifs has helped me realise: Nurmi apologises in his own way. By warning Karppi this time. And she sees he's changed his mind. Hence the kiss.

Both of their kisses are super dark. Do we think it's because due to covid rules, the actual kissing is done by stand-ins and the stars are only there for the moments before and after? (Like on the balcony kiss there's a sudden different angle of them a second after breaking apart that is better lit)? It's also possible that they're actually not kissing in the second scene, just placing their faces next to each other. I really hope we get a movie and it'll be filmed post covid times

Jackie's coming back like Ellie. No way are they perma-killing characters like that. Watch them make a resurrection key next season and then conveniently lose / break it after it's been used once. Also, Eden's not dead. Laws of television
i didn’t think they’d have the balls to kill the people that get unlocked considering how sanitized the show is in comparison to the comics

The hellkittens are canon now :)
Hello sir! I have a rather odd question! Do you read the fan fictions about the video projects you work on? More specifically, do you read Good Omens fanfictions?
No.
1) I don't want to. I already have enough going on in my head with Good Omens that I have absolutely no desire to add anyone else's into the mix.
2) legally it would be suicidal. If you've written a story in which Aziraphale decides to hand out fluffy kittens to everyone on the street but Crowley discovers that they are actually Hell kittens and that unless he rounds them all up and gets them back to Hell by midnight they will devour the local children, and I read it, and I have a similar kittens story planned (or worse, already written) then I either have to abandon that plot or risk you suing me, the BBC, Amazon and the Pratchett estate.
This is also why I'm always going to decline to read your fanfiction.

Ok, if there's going to be more, I won't complain about Season 3. Because it did feel unfinished. Like a lot of conversations were left out, a lot of avenues unexplored. If they're saving it for a movie, I'm happy. But only if the movie actually gets made.
“At the beginning, Karppi/Deadwind was written in the length of three seasons, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that the story of Sofia Karppi is over when the third season ends. According to Jokela, “Karppi” might get continuation for example in the form of movie, just like “Sorjonen.”
“The creators of the show have the high desire to do something more, and we would have the icing on the cake when it comes to story. We agreed that there is no way that all of the ideas fit into third season. We decided to save one idea, which would be natural to tell in a little shorter form. But we shall see how this will proceed.” “ - Seura

I unfortunately hated this season. They spent so little time together, didn't speak to each other really about what had happened before, and all their moment had been used in promos already, so nothing surprising
…and the whole third - and sadly last - season of Karppi/Deadwind is watched. Literally during one night. That tells something about how fantastic it is. There are some minor things that I might have chosen to do differently, but still this season might be my favorite of them  - even though the whole show will always have a special place in my heart. So many twists and turns, humor and tears. It really deserves the attention it has gotten and even more. I won’t give away any spoilers “in public”, but if you want to ask something by private messages, I will gladly answer.

Purgatory. Paradise. Eden. Tree of good and evil. The peacemaker chooses. Anyone wants to guess what is on the other side of purgatory from paradise? Bulshar's immortal, he's not going to either of those places... Stuck in purgatory forever.
I don’t have a screen shot yet but I’ll add one when the episode drops on iTunes BUT did anyone catch at the end when Wynonna points Peacemaker at Bulshar it doesn’t glow it’s normal orange or sometimes blue but it glowed WHITE instead?!
Discuss.
*update*
Here’s the pic from when Wynonna is pointing Peacemaker at Bulshar

Well, they've been going with a somewhat bi vibe with King George in my opinion, so maybe Javier is actually meant as his love interest? (The "what's so special about this smuggler?" might serve as an ironic meet cute). But they'd better not get rid of Bilal for that!!!
No but seriously people! Am I the only one who got Javier is into James vibe this episode?
And don’t come after me that it’s about Alfonso Herrera playing gay man in Sense8. It’s really not, the characters couldn’t be more different AND I’ve seen Alfonso play a straight man convincingly and he is married to a woman IRL so it’s really not about that.
I got the vibe because he keeps steering conversation to James and gushing about how cool he is and watching him with hot eyes.

We saw James's room in the last episode and it had black walls. There's a black wall behind Teresa's head here...
