Hey look I drew one of my paras!!!

Faer name is Chimere! Fae is one of my paracosm's antagonists! The chess thing is mostly symbolic, but I still felt like adding it nwn

(Tumblr makes it look shitty but if you click and zoom you can see it better I guess)

There's a few details with the chess board too! Some context is that Chimere is ALWAYS calm, and fae gets most information by talking over a chess game. Fae's VERY good at this, backing someone into a corner both in the game and in the conversation.

Fae has the white pieces to represent faer advantage of the situation, since white pieces start always. Fae is also using the E2-E4 start (the pawn in front of the king) and according to google and to my chess-obsessed boyfriend, this is one of the best opening moves! Also, this makes faer king visible in the drawing, which represents how once you sit in there, you see faer true self. Also, fae has the white pieces because fae's a kanhakko, beings made out of positive energy, and in contrast, most of faer enemies are kannami, made out of negative energy.

Lastly, your king is broken, the chess piece for your king is broken, and since the point of chess is to, um, get the king, this kinda just says "you've already lost before starting", y'know
