Found a Petoskey Stone in our yard yesterday! Not a usual place for such a find but I'll take it. Petoskey Stones are fossils of six-sided rugose coral. They are formed by glaciers picking them up from the bedrock and grinding them smooth. Later they were deposited along mostly the northwestern area of Michigan's lower peninsula. ~ Matteo

Some of the last images I took of North Park in San Diego, California, before moving back to Michigan. Twenty years in the making, they are regular 8mm film stills from early 2004. The film was digitized, and this year I created digital negatives @kirknewmanartschool @kalamazooinstituteofarts photography department with the help of @m_b_whalen. Printed on my all-time favorite David W. Lewis gelatin silver paper. I purchased the frames years ago in San Diego, and now I've found a purpose for them. Every day I will now look at them hanging on my wall. ~ Matteo

I'm so grateful that my parents took us on family vacations every summer growing up. We usually went back to south Jersey to visit family but we did take an occasional excursion elsewhere. I loved being copilot, road Atlas in hand, to help guide my father, not that he didn't already know the way. Though GPS navigation can be very convenient, there is nothing like the feel and smell of a paper map! Just picking it up triggers a flood of memories. ~ Matteo

NOTE: Even though these are digital images taken with my mobile phone camera, they still involved film. I used an old piece of fully exposed 35mm film tapped over the camera lenses to keep the sensors from being damaged!

Back to using the Dexcom G7 after a break for a few days. New regime: not carrying the receiver on my person to prevent me from checking it too often unless I'm exercising. Also, turning it off until I need to know my glucose amount. Hopefully, this will limit the seesawing I've experienced in the past from overcorrecting. Like my new Metz & Matteo athletic t-shirt?
