Almost 2 years after I began my art commissions journey, and after probably (so far) 50+ commissioned artworks of Ulzassila in that span of time, with so many drawings both before and after this singular drawing...
This is still
indubitably and unquestionably, without a single shred of doubt, with full 100% confidence and certainty,
my #1 top favorite artwork of Ulzassila. Of all time.
And I don’t see it being topped. Ever. To this day, it hasn’t been. And I believe this will remain the case.
I remember when I received the email from Skeb that the drawing was finished. And when I got my first look at it, I was just...
I was stunned.
I lost my breath.
I was at a complete loss for words.
You... you know how sometimes, you see a drawing and it just... somehow hits differently? Or maybe a photo, I guess, might be an easier analogy to work with. Or just any picture in general.
But you see it, and you suddenly just pause and stop everything. You drop all of it. And you look and stare deeply and... you just think to yourself, “I am so blessed to have been able to witness and see this today.” Whatever the reason may be. And you might even think to yourself, to a more extreme degree or if it hits that differently, “My life is better because I was able to see this.”
I’m sorry if it seems like I’m being too dramatic or hyperbolic, but I sincerely am not. I sincerely felt, and to this day still feel, this way.
When I commissioned the drawing, I described Ulzassila as being divinely beautiful and ethereal. “Ethereal”, by which I meant that her beauty is to the extent that it feels like she doesn’t belong on Earth.
And this drawing absolutely captured that. Ulzassila was drawn so carefully and with such attention to detail that... I was lost in her eyes. I still am.
This drawing absolutely touched my heart and I sincerely hope that you, dear visitor and/or reader (if you’ve read everything up to this point), feel similarly. Thank you for your time, and I hope that this drawing has also improved your day (let’s keep it realistic for everyone else haha) to even the slightest extent. Because we were able to see this wonderful, one-of-a-kind masterpiece of a drawing of Ulzassila. I sincerely believe that this is a timeless artwork that will evoke similar feelings even years or decades from now.
This drawing is my Mona Lisa. It will become akin to the Mona Lisa in the future. It deserves that much at the very least. After all, it is a masterpiece.

So this was a Skeb-style commission I made to kitaugetu. On Skeb, obviously.
To elaborate further, and as background for anyone unfamiliar with Skeb, it’s basically a website where you commission (primarily, or all I think?) Japanese artists to draw for you. Thing is, you only get the one, initial request to include as much detail and as many specifications as possible. (Or not at all, which is also possible, if that’s your thing.) This is in contrast to typical commissions where there will be a lot more communication between the artist and the commissioner, where the former may provide the latter with updates, drafts, etc. so that the picture may be changed throughout the process. With Skeb, or Skeb-style commissions, it’s more of a gamble. You look at the artist’s portfolio, history, and hope that they do the best they can and do your request (in my case, Ulzassila) justice.
So when I commissioned kitaugetu, I... y’know, provided the reference materials for Ulzassila. I also requested that they give her doll joints (I did this with only one other picture, which I’ll upload in the future). It was honestly just... out of curiosity around how Ulzassila would look if she was a doll. Lol.
And when I later asked kitaugetu to explain the drawing (*cough* This isn’t actually allowed by Skeb, so no, I absolutely did NOT talk to them), they said (well, they did NOT say):
There are very few opportunities to draw an original character whis a sacred atmosphere. That’s why I struggled with how to incorporate these beautiful black hair and pure white feathers into the illustration! The moment I saw this beautiful black hair, I felt that it was going to melt into jet black, and at the same time, I felt a floating sensation that escape from gravity. That’s why this black background is a jet-black sea like a deep sea where you can feel the feeling of floating. The ocean was on top of the screen, so it was difficult to understand. I may not have been able to express myself well yet, including vocabulary, but I hope you enjoy this work even a little!
I... I’m touched. Thank you for your hard work kitaugetu. 🙇‍♂️

I remember seeing some of Sashadowart’s artwork a while back on Instagram (namely, through the Explore feature/tab) and wondering how a more “Western” take on Ulzassila would fare (as opposed to the typical anime-style drawings I’d been getting of her). And I picked Sasha because her art looks very... pencil-y I guess? Like, it looks really traditional and not too digital or anything, where her works look almost as if she drew them on paper.
So on Sasha’s website now, you can commission a “Portrait”, “Half-body”, or “Full-body” (all pretty self-explanatory). At the time when I reached out to her though (so around June of 2022), there was also a fourth option called “Illustrations”. And this seemed a bit different from the other choices. So when I asked her what an “Illustration” was and what made it different from the others, she described and summed up the “Illustrations” option as such:
It’s because an illustration means there’s much going on, like a strong composition, an action, a scenery and a character. It’s not just about a character drawing on its own, but rather about some idea behind it!
Well obviously in that case, I’m getting an illustration then!
So because we were going for a whole coherent idea for my commission then, Sasha was amazing in helping me flesh out the theme for the artwork and what I really wanted to get from the drawing of Ulzassila, who’s divine, angelic, elegant, and mm... ethereal. And to her (Sasha, I mean), Ulzassila felt like a Greek or Roman goddess. Kinda. Or gave off some of those vibes I guess? And I would agree! That’s kind of also exactly what I think everyone who sees her should feel! Ulzassila is truly a goddess. 🛐 So that’s why the drawing at the end kind of has some of those motifs and the meander border and all that.
Thanks for the beautiful artwork Sasha! :) Ulzassila looks absolutely divine.

Artist is named “千千結” on their Pixiv and Twitter accounts, but since I don’t know how to pronounce that (and just to keep things simple for me), I’ll refer to them as “coco_1758”.
Unfortunately there’s no source for this picture despite it being a Pixiv Request because they deleted my picture.
...
The picture that I commissioned/paid for got deleted and they didn’t have a back-up. So... I pretty much own the only copy of the picture I guess.

I’m not sure what the artist’s name is exactly, but based on their Twitter handle as well as how Google Translate pronounces their name “椿雪”, I’m going to call them “Tsubakiyuki”.
So I found out about Tsubakiyuki when I saw their drawing in the “Recommended works” section on the Pixiv front page. Just looking at it, Homura looks so... beautiful, yet somber and serious (a bit mournful even?). And... just all of the parts of the picture work so well together: the crown of spider lilies, the red lines below her eyes resembling bloody tears, the Soul Gem, and her skeletal hands even. It all just helps to create this... really cohesive and stunning picture.
Based on all that, I had hoped that Tsubakiyuki would also do the same for Ulzassila, so I reached out to them. And... the result is what you see up there.

I decided to commission knowname after I saw one of their posts on Instagram where they showcased their improvement and growth in their art from 2018 to 2022. (And their 2022 drawing of Shinobu, as you can see on the left, looks just absolutely nuts. Like, she’s so beautifully drawn! I especially love how she was rendered and just the sheen of her skin. Mainly around... well, y’know, that part. Lol. It's really hot!)
I really didn’t want to use Fiverr to commission knowname (the site seemed a bit meh), and I believe their commissions were also closed at the time anyway? So I just waited until they opened up their Pixiv Request, and then I decided to commission them through that! (So knowname is also officially my first commission through Pixiv Request!)
Their drawing of Ulzassila’s great and I’m very happy with it. She’s pale (I absolutely love that Ulzassila is pale, have I mentioned that before?), calm and composed, and her pose suggests confidence. Also the fact that her arms are kinda pushing her breasts together is... kinda really sexy.

I remember when I first happened upon KeenH’s drawings on Twitter. He draws these very, very curvaceous characters in a somewhat... “cutesy”(?) anime style. But because of this big gap between the eroticism and cuteness of the subjects in his pictures, it somehow creates a really effective drawing. I mean, you can check out a bunch of his works in the links below and see what I mean.
So after seeing some of those works on his profile, I decided that I really wanted KeenH to draw Ulzassila! To bring out her sexiness and I guess... make her cute, as is his signature style.
So yeah, he did a really good job as you can see up there! Thank you KeenH! I really love this one as she looks extremely sensual, but it’s also nicely balanced with a good, healthy dose of cuteness.
One thing to note is that it’s actually rather difficult to successfully commission KeenH. He’ll randomly open 2 slots at any point during a random day (with no prior heads-up), and of course it’s on a first come, first served basis. This is the only way to commission him, and these slots fill up fast (like in under an hour), so you basically need to turn on Twitter notifications for him so you can be alerted as soon as he makes a post (and hopefully it’s a “commissions open” post). He doesn’t do waitlists either, unfortunately. So if you want a drawing from him now after seeing that one up there, good luck!
(Oh, by the way, you’ll notice my picture up there is different from the one he posted on Twitter, because in my version, Ulzassila’s top has a much lower cut to show more cleavage.
This is because—okay, so initially, KeenH drew for me two versions, this one you see up there with a super low cut top and the other one publicly-available one on Twitter where her top is... “less” revealing? (Not that it means much considering that the top's transparent lol.) And while I did initially like the other version more and even asked him to sign it, I’ve realized in hindsight now that this one looks a bit better and I like it a lot more. For... multiple reasons. Lol. So I’m sharing this version instead.)

So I liked lyn.e’s previous work so much, I commissioned her again for another drawing of Ulzassila—but this time, for a full-body picture instead.
I’d already seen some of her previous artworks so I knew she was entirely capable of doing this, and I left the pose, and basically everything else, up to her with the sole request that...
Er, yeah, her armpits be shown.
I’m sorry. OTL
Hopefully though, you can also see what I mean when I say that these past two drawings look a bit un-anime-y right? That’s what I meant by “Korean”-styled drawings.

lyn.e’s a pretty awesome artist who specializes in drawing pictures in a... (what I call) more “Korean” style? By that, I mean that drawings of this style are usually much less anime-y and are instead a lot more realistic. There’s also generally a much greater emphasis on anatomical accuracy overall and characters’ facial features are much more well-defined and life-like, like where the nose is oftentimes drawn with a much higher bridge and the eyelids/lips are very emphasized. This is in contrast, imo, to basically every other drawing that you’ll see on this Tumblr, where I guess almost all of them will be more anime-style.
... Probably.
Honestly though, is this really called a (or even the) “Korean” style of drawing characters? I honestly actually have no idea. And of course, please do let me know if I’m incorrect here or if I’m generalizing and being insensitive somehow. I do say this though because those aforementioned similarities are what I've noticed with a lot of Korean artists and their works in this... style, so I’ve just come to lump them all together as such. (The best examples of this type of artwork can be found on ArtMug, which I understand to basically be a Korean Pixiv.)
So anyway, I reached out to lyn.e to draw Ulzassila and she looks absolutely stunning as you can see up there. And you can also probably hopefully tell that this isn’t like your typical or usual “anime-style” of art.
And as for her pose?
Well, pits of course.

Hmm... this was a commission I made to miraymoon. It was Skeb-styled, meaning that after I sent her the reference material for Ulzassila’s appearance, the pose in the picture, the overall idea/theme, etc. were all... well, chosen by her. With no input from me, of course.
I guess... that’s all I have to say about this picture. Or rather, all that I will say about it.

I remember when there was all the hype surrounding Chainsaw Man, especially after it was announced and became widespread news that it’d get an anime adaptation. So when I started reading the manga to get an idea of what all this excitement was about, I remember thinking, “Oh my god. Makima is hot.” And I kinda simped really hard for her.
Oh, but mind you, this was before Reze made her appearance in the manga. Because after I got to her arc, I actually liked (and still like) Reze the most. Obviously a lot more than Makima. But uh... it was because she was really kind to Denji! Yeah, that’s why! (cough definitely not because of the pits)
But I mean, Makima’s definitely more famous, especially with her shrine squishing scene. She’s also undeniably pretty badass, to be fair. (Reze is still hotter though imo, btw. Just have to emphasize that I’m on Team Reze. And I prefer her to every other girl in CSM.)
But anyway, to kind of celebrate the anime adaptation of CSM before it came out, I commissioned Senro0o to draw Ulzassila in Makima’s trademark shrine ritual pose! Mm... I really liked their art because it’s “rough” around the edges and very “sketch”-y, I guess you could say (and not necessarily like, super clean but artificial like you’d see with, say... AI art y’know?), so it kind of has its own appeal.

My first Skeb request ever, and I’m so happy and honored it’s by someone as talented as misaki_yu1522.
Their artstyle is incredible and also very distinct and recognizable, so much that when their art pops up occasionally in the “New works (Artwork)” section on Skeb, it’s very obvious and apparent that it’s their work.
Continuing on with the compliment train, they’re also almost always busy (which goes to show just how popular they are), meaning their requests are basically perpetually closed with the very rare opening. And to imagine that I managed to catch them during one of those windows, and for my first request even?
Yeah, I was honestly incredibly lucky imo.
