smartphone storage plateauing in favor of just storing everything in the cloud is such dogshit. i should be able to have like a fucking terabyte of data on my phone at this point. i hate the fucking cloud

omg thank you for putting it into words i met with my cousins a couple of days ago and i was just talking about my last few weeks but since i still live with my parents and my mother is an abusive asshole it came out as venting and i didn't even realize it until one of them said "i'm sorry" and i was like "what?" and they go "i'm so sorry you can keep venting" and i couldn't exactly get upset at them cause they were nice about it but also i wasn't venting we were all updating each other on our lives and it was my turn

like childhood trauma already makes me hypervigilant about so many things but i also have to be hypervigilant about which topics i can talk about because most of the time just talking about my childhood (or my last tuesday) means i'm venting and i don't necessarily want to do that or bring down the mood or burden whomever i'm speaking to and it's exhausting and it has lead to me isolating myself from so many people and it has lead some people to label me as "always complaining" when i don't even expect anything from anyone i'm just talking

i'm even hesitant to add this to this post cause i'm like "what if op doesn't want to read my venting" even though i know i don't mean it as a vent just further proving a point

anyway trauma sucks

Having a traumatic childhood means you cannot talk even objectively about your basic foundational experiences without it being "venting", even if you're not actually venting. You just straight up have a huge chunk of your life you can't talk about, full stop, without it being trauma dumping.

And it not being socially acceptable to talk about your own childhood is super alienating. Sometimes people want to know why, and any answer you can give them is going to be off putting.

It's to the point I get irritated when something I said is framed as venting when I'm literally just talking about my life experiences, doing my best to keep emotion out of it.
