One of the biggest problems I have with the Star Wars fandom… is how much they hate on Star Wars. Some of these people really make it hard to be a fucking fan. They have these rules that if you don’t follow then it’s “not Star Wars” 🙄 I am over the damn complaining. It’s annoying and dull. Your not happy with the latest story. Cool. Lucky for you the galaxy is a huge place and there’s plenty more stories to look into. If the sequel trilogy ruined Star Wars for you then stop watching and commenting on anything to do with future projects. You loved the old movies, great then pretend you never saw the rest and move the fuck on. There are others who are genuinely excited and happy to see what’s next and willing to give it a try. I was by no means entirely happy with the prequels, sequel trilogy, or with the latest Disney Plus series.. BUT there is a whole lot that I did LOVE about them. And what worked is worth continuing on. I got plenty to complain about like for example..I hated that Rey had to be a palpatine, I hate that the emperor somehow returned, I hate they had no plan and left great new characters with Nothing to do! and I especially HATE that Ben Solo died. It didn’t ruin Star Wars for me tho. That’s so damn dramatic. With this latest news I am so excited that Daisy Ridley is giving it another go and we will see Rey again for a new adventure. She deserves so much better and the hate “fans” give her and her character is truly ridiculous. I hope they stay mad crybaby bitches when she kills it for the next one! And also… bring back the Dyad! #bensololives🦋

The Batman deserves so much more love this awards season than it’s been given. This was the best comic book adaptation/ action/ crime/fantasy movie of not only the 2022 year, but the last 10 years. Don’t get it twisted 🖤🦇

something that a lot of smallville fans fail to notice is how much Lois REALLY loves Clark. One of her most noted storylines is her fear of being alone and abandoned (similar to Clark). This fear stems from her father and the way he raised her due to her mothers death. Keep in mind that the second time Lois and Ollie dated again, she knew he was the GA. This was a huge step for her to take because of how he treated her in the past as well as her fears and insecurities. YET she still breaks up with him because she is unable to commit to his superhero lifestyle, afraid that he’s going to abandon her along the way to his destiny (this is the reason why Clark stays with Lana in s7 btw, because Lois isn’t handling Ollie’s vigilante lifestyle so we’ll, why not settle and stay with Lana since she already knows and is somewhat used to it).
In Infamous, Lois says “I’ve been down the hero road before, and everytime I make a giant u-turn. But THIS was different.” It’s not different because her insecurities suddenly disappeared, it’s different because it’s CLARK. She loves him so much that she’s willing to force her fear of being alone aside to make sure it works with him and HIM ONLY. “You’re the one I want to get it right with”. She doesn’t do this with anyone else. Yes, ran away after their first kiss but that fear goes back to the last scene in Infamous (when he bails on her) and she probably felt the kiss was a fluke (literally her ptsd from bride). AND yes she went to Egypt when she found out he was the blur but that’s because she doesn’t want to come between Clark saving humanity which stems to why she called off the wedding. All of this because of HOW much she loves him, she’s never loved someone as much as she loves Clark, not even a little bit. And I love that it parallels with how much Clark loves her. “Lois, I died when you left.” “I can’t live in a world where you don’t love me.” Lois wants to be needed and loved, Clark NEEDS to LOVE her and be loved in return to do what he does best. And that’s why no other ship on this show will ever come close to them.

⚠️⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️⚠️
Season 4 was legit the MOST emotional season yet! I was in tears multiple times and I’m still trying to soak everything in…
The acting was off the charts all around and the soundtrack this season was one banger after another. There’s a lot to love and some things to be disappointed in for sure, but I really believe they elevated this show to another status and I’m hopeful the final and fifth season is going to blow us away. Some have complained about the length of the episodes this season but I got to say I didn’t even notice the length. I was just so into the story that time was flying by. There was so much to unpack I didn’t even know if we would get everything resolved or close to it. Probably not going to get to everything that happened, but immediate reactions- Max’s story this season and her near death was heart breaking! Baby girl did not deserve to go through so much pain 💔 her and Lucas just got to me this season. Lucas literally fighting for his life and trying to help max but not being able to do anything just BROKE me. The friendship and mutual love from Dustin and Eddie was just so sweet, I was so worried about Eddie from day 1 and damn I hated to be right. In Stranger Things fashion we get a great character that everyone loves and then they die. Him wanting to stay and fight and be a hero but no one will ever know what he did just SUCKS. And his Master of Puppets solo fucking slayed so hard. Dustin’s speech to Eddie’s uncle was beautiful tho. But damn I must say I SCREAMED when hopper and Joyce just jumped each other!! Oh wow I was so happy 🥰🥰🥰 they look so good together too. Mom and dad finally together! I didn’t love that we spent sooo much time in Russia, but it was worth it to have that reunion. One thing I didn’t love so much tho….. so the Steve/Nancy situation. Like I feel Nancy moved on and Steve was growing and turning into the person he was suppose to be but this whole regression into “Nancy is the one for me” bullshit is just not… good. Steve is amazing I agree, and I just think Nancy is not The one boo. Why you day dreaming about having 6 kids in an RV when you know she is trying to leave Hawkins and be some girl boss hot shot. It’s just sad. He’s too sweet and simple. Nancy just can’t figure out her damn feelings and if her and Jonathan don’t TALK I am going to loose my mind.
Now to the hot topic… so about baby boy Will.. I 100% agree this boy needs and deserves better. He has been through some shit over and over and I can’t continue to see him cry 😢 I’m praying they flip the script and in season 5 Will becomes a big player in the over all story and gets a huge confidence boost. I think there will be bigger plans for him. Yes so Will’s sexuality was a big deal for a lot of people and I did want there to be more clarity on that but I do think the subtext was enough to understand that yes, Will is gay. And Will has feelings for Mike, his best friend. But this whole thing of hating Mike for loving El instead is kind of a bummer. Mike and El have an established relationship and obviously have been in love since season one. Another thing to understand is these are TEENAGERS. Mike and El are each other’s first love and formed a connection that goes beyond the norm because of the extraordinary circumstances. There is a lot they have to learn and grow from but as 14 year olds, they are dedicated to each other. Will is a young boy in the 80s with zero role models for his exact situation and afraid to loose his friends if he comes out. What I want is Will to open up to his family. To Joyce and Jonathan. Of course his friends will support him, but to have that unconditional love will be everything to him and we got just a glimpse of that in Will and Jonathan’s last talk. Will may have feelings for Mike but he is aware enough to see that there is no returning of those types of feeling beyond friendship so he does what he feels is the best thing for his friends! For Mike and El who he cares about. Will is going to find himself eventually and become confident in his own skin… he didn’t need to have it all figured out right away and that’s ok. Even tho it hurts to see his struggles, he will be able to find his way and his OWN happiness. I just think the shipping wars are unnecessary and toxic. Not everyone is going to get what they want but please quit attacking others just because your ship didn’t work out. You love the show or you don’t and if you don’t, stop watching it. I really enjoyed this season and I’m so excited to see how this whole thing ends.

you know, i've been thinking a lot about mileven and gender roles and mike proclaiming el is superman and he's lois lane has only made me more obsessed with this aspect of their relationship.
they've always been so unlike other relationships in media in so many different ways but i think it's really worth noting just how much they subvert gender stereotypes, in particular the traditional superhero x love interest gender dynamic, and how that might be behind some of the hate they get.
there's something to be said about how el is the superhero here and much like clark kent she has a love interest she's incredibly committed to and in love with. a love interest who represents an ordinary, happy life and brings out the more human, vulnerable side of her. someone whose love and support drives her throughout the story by giving her the strength and will to fight another day. only, unlike clark kent, el faces an infinite amount of criticism for this. her adoration of mike is seen as something that makes her silly and weak; her need for reassurance from someone she loves is seen as an unhealthy dependency she must be cured of. antis constantly say el isn't ready for a relationship, that she can't be in a relationship and grow as a person, that the meaning she gives mike is undeserved and that she won't be empowered until she is single and gets her strength from virtually anywhere else. but el is a complex superhero character whose love interest plays a fundamental role in the story, same as clark kent and so many male characters out there. the difference is that men can be in love and still be seen as empowered and strong, girls can't.
meanwhile, mike's not the superhero, he's the love interest. he's the heart. he's lois lane. his role is to inspire the superhero, to give her hope and get her to fight on. when the superhero leaves or disappears, he waits. however long it takes. when the superhero needs reassurance or a pep talk or to feel happy for a couple of seconds, that's when he comes in. he dedicates a huge chunk of his life to supporting el. now, that's not his sole purpose or quality... he's unbearably kind and smart and the leader of the party. he's also brave and incredibly selfless. but all of this is rarely acknowledged. for all that he is and for all that gives other characters, especially el as she tends to be his priority, mike receives the same treatment as almost any other female love interest to a superhero. which is, honestly, a lot of unjustified hate. the level of criticism (if you can even call it it that) mike gets from both the st fandom and locals is truly unmatched and it's always on the grounds that he is annoying or somehow not good enough or useless to the plot (even though that's simply not true. objectively). he takes on the traditionally feminine role in the relationship and displays traditionally feminine traits and that's a problem for some people. not even because he's a boy specifically, just because anything traditionally feminine tends to be devalued and hated on.
idk. just a thought.

I don’t think I’ve ever happy cried by the end of a show this much ever! This story just existing is such a blessing. It’s the absolute cutest, sweetest, purest relationship I have ever seen on screen and I love it soooo much 🥰 Nick and Charlie are the BEST and they killed me every episode. I love that there is a teen romance show without all the exaggerated drama, sex, outrageous behavior that wouldn’t make sense for high schoolers to go through. They let them be and act their ages and still tackle important issues without making it a sad tragic situation. It’s so uplifting and heartwarming. I’m in my 30s but this makes me so happy that young teens get this type of representation and validation from a show that didn’t exist when I was growing up. I can’t wait for the next couple of seasons and I pray we get more wholesome, positive, loving content in the future ❤️

My ‘The Batman’ thoughts, review, rant….
SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
If you’ve seen my posts or read my other “reviews” you may have caught on to the fact that I am 100% undeniably a hardcore fan girl of Robert Pattinson and was so excited for the release for The Batman. I’ve been counting the fucking DAYS to see it in theaters because I knew this was going to be something special….. and oh boy was I not disappointed. I am a self proclaimed movie fanatic, and I hold sacred the act of seeing movies on the big screen. I don’t fathom myself as some snobbish critic and hold standards on ‘Cinema’ as some would say. I enjoy all types of movies. The most entitled tear jerking, awards baiting, pieces of ArT 🤌🏻 that can be overrated, and the silly ass stupid, mind numbing, dick joke type of comedy’s designed to make you forget about the real world and it’s ever lasting problems. I admit, I love and enjoy the fun, overblown, action packed comic book movies that have come out in the last 10-15 years just the same as every other person in the world. Their easy and make you feel good… most of the time. Marvel has dominated the box office for a reason and made something special out of second rate comic book characters we didn’t really know before they showed up on the screen. But to take on The Batman.. a character as familiar as your own family members and as everlasting as any character of the 21st century? That’s the real challenge. What could we possibly see as NEW in the Batman canon. What else is there to possibly explore that we haven’t seen in countless revisions and reinventions. Well Matt Reeves has the answer. I’ve always loved Batman as a pop culture staple. I’ve been watching DC movie characters as long as I can remember and I’ve always loved the dark worlds DC provided these iconic hero’s and antihero’s. Batman is probably my most favorite hero besides Superman. I love them both for different reasons, where my idealistic hopeful and righteous side admires the absolute loveliness of Superman/Clark Kent (who IS the most powerful superhero-No Debate!) I am seduced by the dark, mysterious, somewhat borderline mentally unhinged nature of Batman/Bruce Wayne. He has no special powers or supernatural upper hands… he’s just a man. A deeply sad, distressed, confused but smart, determined and creative man trying to find meaning in the chaos that became his life. He is so relatable not because of what he CAN do , but what he has BEEN through. Even if you’ve never experienced the kind of loss he has, it’s not hard to understand his pain. That’s what Matt Reeves latched onto… the Pain of Batman/Bruce Wayne. And I use the slash because in this movie, there is no distinguishable line between who he is in and out of the cowl. His pain and loss is carried with him no matter the face he decides to show for the day. It was brilliant to start of this new take on the character as not having a “split personality” of sorts to show the fake billionaire playboy and the masked avenger of the night. He isn’t there yet in his life. He wants to create a change in Gotham but isn’t impacting the way he wants… which is something we all see everyday in the real world. Real change is not made by the well meaning… it’s usually by the tragic occurrences that shake the world so bad you have to do something about it or at least attempt to. Robert Pattinson showed the Inner workings of Bruce and his mindset so beautifully without words. I am astonished by the emotions pulsing through his EYES from each scene of his Batman. I was truly blown away and I’m biased I admit but this was beyond loyalist applause.. I was impressed. He slinks through the shadows, a figure of fear, an ever present eye on the criminal element.. as any good Batman should be! But it doesn’t stop them from committing crimes. He can beat the shit out of someone and there will always be another lowlife waiting in the wings. Gotham is such a character in this movie and you really feel this is a fully lived in city that has fallen from grace and every kind of unruly creature is lurking around waiting for their shot at power.
We jump right into year 2 and no origin story needed. We know the tale so well we could imagine it all happening in five seconds of backstory that’s not necessary to film anymore. We get where Bruce is coming from and feel his anger without having to be told he is angry. He shows it. Vengeance he is called, again and again. He believes it too. He only thinks in black and white, right and wrong. No grey areas allowed. But his world gets pulled upside down by the beautiful, morally ambiguous, strong Selina Kyle and the insane, unpredictability, unhinged Riddle that causes all the mayhem in this masterfully set detective story. And OMG does he catch some feels for our new Catwoman! There chemistry is off the charts. The movement and tension between these two lost souls is so delicious you can practically taste the sparks flying off all that leather and rubber covering most of their bodies. The softly spoken words and longing looks makes this the most sexy iteration of the Bat and the Cat in my mind..and Michelle Pfeiffer LICKED Michael Keaton in the Tim Burton film! That was hot but COME ON.. when Rob looks deeply into Zoe Kravitz eyes and caresses the words “look at me”… I almost DIED 💀
Paul Dano as the Riddler is truly terrifying and almost too close to being real. I love the horror elements Matt brought to the film and wasn’t afraid to lean into the sickness and uncomfortable nature of murder and mayhem. Even making you give unwanted sympathy to this villain. Its miles away from the bloodless unreality of the marvel movies I was genuinely shocked to see some hardcore (for a PG 13 film) violence in a “superhero” movie. He really pushed those boundaries and all the power to him. We get so many influences in this movie. 70s crime dramas, horror, noire, subtle dark comedy, comic book references. It’s all there. I feel like this is the kind of film made specifically for someone like me to enjoy. I’ll happily sit through 3-4 hours of a movie and never complain. I want the quiet moments, the stuff you reflect on. The slow burn that leads you to a heart pounding finale that may or may not make you entirely satisfied. I want a flawed character trying to figure it out. Fails time and time again, but never gives up. By the time Batman is so exhausted and close to passing out (as any normal human being would be inclined to do) he pushes himself to give more…more and more and more of himself. All to show his city that he is not just vengeance. He is who they need him to be. The symbol of hope. The protector in the shadows. The knight himself. He sees his hate has caused an impact he never intended, and as anyone faced with their own demons, he has a choice. Give them your pain or take on their pain for them.
The movie is shot so beautifully it’s well deserved that the cinematographer recently took home an Oscar for DUNE, and I’m hopeful he will again for a the Batman in a years time. The score is unbelievable and so iconic I can just see it being played on repeat for Batman fans for years to come. The choice to use Nirvanas ‘Something in the Way’ at the beginning of the movie and the end of the movie is deliberate. He will always be torn in his choice of duty and vengeance. Love and hate. Righteousness and selfishness. There will always be something in the way of Bruce getting beyond his pain and fear. He needs it too much. But he can become something good, at least a little bit for the sake of his city. And the people who need someone to show them the way out of the dark, even if you can never leave the dark yourself. His final scene with Selina drives this home. He wants something with her but doesn’t know what. She can’t understand either but what they both know is that he can’t leave Gotham. He is spoken for. And isn’t that the tragedy of Bruce and Selina? To always want, but never to have.
I cannot wait to see where this series from Matt and Rob takes us over the years. I predicted we would get something weird, and I was right, but not so weird as to alienate a world wide audience. Rob put his whole heart into The Batman and I can’t help but root for as many follow ups as possible. I want alll the spin offs. The HBO MAX shows, the sequels, the inspired fanfiction! This is a world I want to sink my teeth into and drown blissfully in. I haven’t even gone into detail the supporting cast of Colin Farrell as Penguin, John tuturo as Carmine Falcone, Jeffrey wright as Gordon Andy Serkis as Alfred..etc. all amazing and deserving of praise! But I feel we will have so much more content of this Batman/Gotham world that I will have plenty of time to gush on their behalf. I sat and watched this movie twice in theaters and eagerly anticipate it’s inclusion on HBO MAX in a few days, and I can safely say I want to see it on repeat for the forceable future. Matt Reeves envisioned a beautiful world with complicated characters and was brought to life by world class actors. I bow down to his vision and pray we get endless content for years to come. Batman will endure, and he will always be retold. I just hope we get more people like Matt and Rob who show us that there is always something new to be told in a classic tale. PLEASE for your own cinema loving self respect. See. This. Movie. 🖤🦇
