it’s been almost a whole year since i last posted here… it’s only because my fandom eras have been crazy this year & stranger things was put on the back burner.

"everyone being gay in the 80s is unrealistic" babes not only do they have interdimensional monsters and telekinesis but they also have songs from 1995 playing in 1983 and 1986 but pop off ig
Lucas mentions like jokingly that Max has broken up with him a few times (which is super normal for like middle school couples) but I’ve just been thinking about the way that (unlike Mike) Lucas’s parents clearly love each other… so like he has this image of working things out and apologizing and fighting but always coming back to each other. But Max’s dad abandoned her, and her mom was in a relationship with a horrible abusive stepfather. She doesn’t know what healthy romantic relationships look like. She knows people leave you and hurt you. So I imagine any time she got too comfortable or too happy with Lucas it scared her, she realized how much he meant to her and how much power to hurt her she was giving him. So I kind of picture those breakups as them having like some really sweet amazing moment, maybe she teaches him how to skateboard and he shows her how to use his slingshot, and she’s having like an amazing day, and then she panics and starts pulling away, she gets a little extra snarky, she starts picking a fight and then breaks up with him out of frustration. And I can totally imagine her sitting at home positive that this time he won’t come back, and good riddance she doesn’t need him (but inside she’s actually terrified he really won’t come back, even though he always does, but what if this time it’s different and she really pushed him away)… but then he does come back, because he’s Lucas, he doesn’t give up on a friend, and he’d never give up on Max. He kind of talks about “working” to win her back but I definitely think Max just put on a show of making him work for it. I think the last time, the real time, the only reason Lucas actually took a step back was because he was trying to give her space and time (something his parents probably sat him down and talked to him about after he was upset that she didn’t want to talk to him after everything at star court)
millie, gaten, sadie, joseph, and finn all being nominated for a saturn award and NOT caleb is so unserious and weird? he gave one of the most memorable performances this season (especially this scene) and him not getting a nomination while joseph does (who's only been in one season compared to caleb's 4 seasons) is blatant racism. he has been robbed of awards and nominations EVERY SINGLE SEASON. he deserves more recognition.
max in her wheelchair zooming around the school and telling el that she can definitely jump the stairs while lucas screams at her from down the hall, sprinting and begging her not to try it
