TIL the reason we say "buckaroo" is it's a phonetic English way of saying cowboy in Spanish, "vaquero."

wakanda forever honestly reminded me of how good a marvel movie can be when they create character-driven stories instead of focusing on unfunny jokes and repetitive action sequences

Everyone says who you first marry in skyrim says a lot about you but i married that homeless guy in windhelm the Once Honored guy w the bald ass head bcs I read that unless u do he dies in the civil war and so i married him thinking i could divorce him on friendly terms and help him get back on his feet  but you cant get divorced i learned too late and he keeps asking my DB for a gold coin every day despite living in her house and yelled at meeko and then i met serana and fell in love thinking i could marry her if I got old baldy out of the picture bcs he never even changed out of his raggedy ass robes anyway so lure him into the small room in lakeview manor and close the doors so the kids dont see and one hit mercy kill him but the kids hear anyway and start screaming and the bard hears too and attacks me and I have to kill the bard and the kids are still screaming. but every time i come back the bodies wont despawn so theres just my dead homeless husband and bard in the house making the kids cower in the corner so i cast reanimate and try to walk my husband outside but that just makes things worse bcs hes making those zombie moans and as SOON as i load outside the door he turns into a giant ass zombie ash pile and goes “thank….. you….” so the rest of the game I just had my dead bald husbands goo ashes right on the front steps of my home and Seranas not even marriable

still can’t believe that in 1994 there was a movie where tom cruise and brad pitt were a gay couple constantly on the verge of divorce and cruise decides that adopting a child will save their marriage so they raise kirsten dunst together until she sets cruise on fire so they separate and she and pitt travel europe for a while before her death and then pitt and cruise both separately complain about their marriage to a journalist played by christian slater like he’s their therapist and it was one of the highest grossing films of that year

You just know at one point Louis or Lestat had to be like "what's in your mouth? .... WHAT'S IN YOUR MOUTH???!" like a disobedient dog with Claudia as she skittered up the walls with a femur clenched between her teeth

oh so when the reader knows something i don’t it’s “dramatic irony” but when i know something the reader doesn’t suddenly i’m an “unreliable narrator” 🙄

RANT ABOUT UNRELIABLE NARRATORS (buckle up for the long ride, folks, but I promise it’ll be worth it):
First-person narrators are always unreliable to some extent, because no human is infallible; human unreliability is inevitable. But the reliability of first-person narrators varies greatly. There’s a false perception of reality caused by insanity, like Jane in "The Yellow Wallpaper," who does not know she is hallucinating. A different kind of this is a narrator who has an almost imperceptibly skewed perception of reality, like Patroclus in Song of Achilles who portrays himself as squeamish, cowardly, weak, and unintelligent, when in fact he has the stomach, skill, and courage to swiftly and expertly tend to wounded soldiers, and was even able to pass as Achilles, the "best of the Greeks," in battle, or Bella Swan in The Twilight Saga who thinks of herself as ugly and unremarkable and is surprised when almost every boy in Forks shows attraction to her. Then there’s Nick Carraway in The Great Gatsby, who is lying not only to the reader but to himself; he knows deep down that Gatsby is a bad person, but he chooses to keep his rose-coloured glasses on and try to immortalize his crush in a positive manner, which is more than Gatsby really deserves. This sort of brushing the truth aside and attempts at gaining the readers' trust is a subtle but purposeful form of unreliable narration, and it’s notiseable if you look deep enough into it. Nelly Dean from Wuthering Heights also does this, as her strong feelings about the characters lead her to tell the story in a biased way. Then there’s . . . pretty much everybody in The Vampire Chronicles, who all tell such different versions of the same story that I don’t know whether to trust Lestat, Louis, Armand, or Marius more, because I know they’re all lying to me in some way, shape, or form, at almost all times. Anyway unreliable narrators are fun.

Pyrrhus is two things;
1. A sociopath, or the embodiment of toxic masculinity
and
2. Exactly who Achilles would have been if Achilles did not grow up with the genuine love and positive influence of Patrocus.
