what inspired you to do this?

At the time, I had lived in Manhattan for 20 years (now it’s been 30 years) and I realized that there is so much of the city that I haven’t seen. It’s like taking a little vacation in your own town because each neighborhood is so unique. Little did I know it would take so long and I haven’t yet made it south of 96th street. I decided to blog it so I have it saved for posterity.
