We were surprised to find a snow goose at Baie-du-Febvre, QC in early August. The house at 863 is covered in ivy. Trois-Rivière, QC.
The light that day was very flat and dull. I think that on a sunny day the shadows under the porch would have obscured the details around the door.

A closer look at a Common Blue Damselfly (Common Bluet or Northern Bluet) perched on a stem of sedge is reflected in the calm surface of the lake.
The water was not too deep there and to get the camera down to that level I had to kneel on the bottom of the lake with my chin just above water. My camera and macro lens were just a few centimeters above the surface of the lake. I managed to keep everything dry except for the camera strap.

An abstract of water weeds being waved about by a light wind on the surface of a lake.
I used the in-camera multi-exposure mode, set to the averaging setting, to record several shots of water weeds as a single image. A slower shutter speed contributed to enhancing the impression of motion as compared to this other image.

This seagull was just taking off. After a couple of jumps and with a final splash it took to the sky.
Taken at Mavilette Beach Provincial Park while on vacation in Nova Scotia. I took a whole lot of panning shots of different birds flying by. I was quite please how the wing tips and water splash were blurred.
Processed with Affinity Photo v2 where I applied a tilt shift lens effect to create the shallow DOF. I also applied additional some selective sharpening using Topaz Sharpen AI.

Grosse Coque - Mavillette Beach
This large clam (fr. grosse coque) was easily 5 inches across (13 cm). It was the biggest shell I’ve ever seen in the wild. No wonder there is an Acadian village up the road name Grosses Coques.

On a late afternoon walk in our municipal park, I was lucky enough to come across this scene.
A year ago, this photo would not have been possible. Where I was standing when I made this image would have been covered in more pines, but the derecho wind that swept through South Eastern Ontario in the summer of 2022 blew over a whole swath of trees there to create this clearing. You can still see some of the pine leaning over since their crowns got entangled with neighbouring trees.
