04/16/2024 Pinned Note Update
Hello! For anyone looking for fic updates or novel updates, here you go.
Recently, the gentleman who played the Sherlock to my Watson last year convinced a director to cast me as a mean sailor in Peter and the Starcatchers. So, I'm in rehearsals again, where I am the happiest and where I get the most writing done sometimes. But I'm also busy so fic and novel updates might be slow.
Anyway, for readers of my fanfic (Man! I Feel Like a Human), I have CHANGED MY USERNAME to be more gender-friendly. Seeing a very gendered name every time I log into AO3 was HARD so I’ve changed it to madrabbitwrites. Updates to M! I F L A H will resume soon. I’ve got it all written, it’s just in a notebook instead of in a file.
For my YouTube Channel - @AveryMorstan , for the whole month of May, every Tuesday, I am reading one of my romance novels. (I’m an LGBTQIA friendly romance author on Amazon) Vane Attraction is about feisty salon owner Samantha Vane who is falling for her lead stylist Hannah. It's free, it's something to listen to while you draw/crochet/craft, and also there's already some other free novellas on my channel under Playlists.
My next book, A Deadly Persuasion, will hopefully be out in May as well. It's a redneck bowling alley vampiric and sapphic retelling of Jane Austen's Persuasion because I don't have enough elements in that description. It's turning out to be my favorite work yet, though. Even more than the Santa fucking a vampire book.
LAST but not least, if you like my content or just think I’m cute, feel free to buy me a coffee.
Sorry! Like Columbo, one more thing!
I’m working on the sequel to The Aquatic Equation, for real this time, and I think that means deleting The Frightful Fluid Conundrum. I might save the title for a future fic in this series, but if you like this so far, you might want to save it and make room for The Pelagic Solution.

Hello stranger! Question. How big do you think tuna fish are? Once you have a guess, please look it up and get back to me. Thank you for your time.
I thought the size of a large toddler but gosh, I was wrong. I'm very excited to learn this fact.

one of my favorite story elements is "character way past their prime can still absolutely wreck you, leaving you to wonder just how powerful they used to be"

“if labyrinth was in modern day everyone would be so tumblr horny and fandom weird for david bowie” is such a weird thing to say… like… did you see labyrinth… that’s like the whole point of david bowie in the movie. did you see his crotch.

Hello! I don't usually have trouble finding queer romances wherein the characters are in their 20s or 30s. But, I'm in my 50s. Do you have any recommendations for queer romances which revolve around middle-aged characters?
Hello! yes, absolutely - there are so so many that we’re hoping to buy over the next few months, but for those that are in our collection right now we’ve got:
Mimosa - a graphic novel about a group of queers finding community in their 30’s & 40’s
The Four Profound Weaves - centers two older trans protagonists
Bingo Love - separated in their youth, two grandmothers find each-other again in their mid-60’s
No Strings Attached - a mother & recent divorcée takes steps to change her life
happy reading <3

Don't know what you're talkin' about. A shark did this. Dangling my legs over the side of the ship. Served me right, too.

100% genuine when i say that the performative culture of disgust around weird obsessions & fetishes keeps people from realizing how much fun being a nonsexual freak could be for them. this has obviously been true for furries for forever, people are so freaked out by the idea of furries as some kind of deviant sex cult that they never get the opportunity to find out its fun to pretend to be an animal. sure a lot of people drop their pretenses about furries and then realize they actually are attracted to furry drawings but i dont think that needs to be the slam dunk argument i think just having fun with colorful animal characters is enough. but like, i think this is true for a lot of stuff that we like inextricably associate with kink but isnt actually a sexual thing. leather collars and harnesses and pvc clothes have started to drift from that exclusive sexual connotation and its become common to see people wearing them as fashion for fun. because they are fun. theyre fun sexually but theyre also fun for their own sake. theres such a huge chasm of separation between living life and Participating In A Fetish that makes so many things so much less fun. resist. draw your oc really big and fat and see where life can take you
