An addition just for me and my blog (if you wanna RB this, go to the source please <3):
These won't be first come, first serve! I'll select ones I've either already thought about, or sounds really interesting to me. They'll be pretty basic colored sketches too. I wanna work on them tonight and over the weekend!
Send “FUSION ! ”and I will draw OR write what a fusion between our muses would look and act like.

There's a message written on a notepad. The handwriting is a little shaky and uneven, like someone was trying to remember how a pen is supposed to be held. "Good to see you back. --Alizarin" At least, that's what it probably says, the signature got a little too swirly towards the end and the writer might have been having too much fun driving a pen.
Aria held the note fondly in her hands, with a big smile on her face.
Tumblr media
"Aww, good to see you too Liz! Or, well, to see your writing, anyway! Hehehee~"

Aria had been working tirelessly on restoring this old world robot graciously gifted to her care; hours every day were devoted to studying old world builds, painstakingly replicating every detail she could recover from the memory bank as close as possible with the recourses available to her. The results were well worth it, with the robot now completed and looking brand new, like the day she was first activated. Changes could be made if she so wished, but Aria would give her time to make that decision on her own.
Each step of the way, Aria was respectful and careful with how she handled her. She had been a living robot just like herself once, after all, and Aria treated her as such. This was the first time she'd worked on an intact model--let alone one that had been so well preserved--and she was equal parts excited and anxious to finally be reactivating her. She had no idea how the robot before her would react to waking up in a new time and place unfamiliar to her, or if she would even want to remain in it. But, whatever her wishes, Aria would honor them. No matter how long it took for her to make them, or how it made herself feel.
But all of that could be faced when the time came. Right now, it was the moment of truth; the first activation since restoration.
Wires hang down from the ports in the back of the bot's neck and connect to monitors, looking like the branches of webs befitting of the model's apparent arachnid inspiration. With one final look over the young(?) lady fast asleep on the med table, Aria entered the command that would begin feeding her new core the energy it would need to come to life.
And now, all there was left to do was wait for her to open her eyes.

Aria had gotten the message from Shadow that he was coming over in a little while, and quickly wrapped up her work. Closing up her notes and putting her monitor to sleep, she dashed out of the lab to get changed. She always appreciated when he gave her a heads up, even if they were engaged now. His politeness always softened her core a little, even after all this time.
Her quick change was a simple one; leaving her lab coat hanging just inside the lab doors, putting her armor into subspace and slipping a sweater and leggings on for some comfort and decency. Aria entered her living room just as the sensation of his presence made itself known in her core. She paused for a moment, with a hand over her core panel and a soft smile on her face. Would she ever get used to that? Part of her hoped she didn't.
'Come on in. Please excuse the mess.'
The "mess" she spoke of was hardly as such, just a few datapads and books on the coffee table and some dishes not put away yet. When he appeared, Aria faced him with a bright smile.
Tumblr media
"Good evening, love." She strolled closer, leaning up on her toes to give him a kiss. "How are you?"

OC STRUGGLES IN THE RPC
honestly writing an OC in this community is another set of issues.
the soul crushing feeling when you see “no OCs” in someones rules
constantly having to dumb down your canon
adjusting to adapted canons
the amount of your own canon and lore you have to sacrifice to do that
when you mention wanting to write a canon, people that have never shown any real interest in your OC jump out of the woodwork to encourage you to do it
when you do it, and that canon gets more attention than your OC ever did
the alternative of that: when your first character was canon and you transition to writing an OC, people suddenly disappear
fandom OCs that outgrow their fandoms and muns that feel they have nowhere to put them
endlessly worrying if your character is too sue-ish, even after x-amount of years
TRIPLE THAT IF YOU’RE PLAYING A FEMALE OC
oh my god female OCs need their own post
female OCs constantly being underestimated and dismissed; being held to a different set of standards than other OCs
honestly i know people that are straight up afraid to write a female OC for these reasons. they’re discouraged before they even start because they know they will never get the same acknowledgement
people assuming simple, stupid things about your muse (can we all agree to stop guessing whose muse is taller and just look from now on?)
feeling like you have to jump through hoops to keep up with everyone else and keep your character fresh and interesting so people don’t lose interest
canon blogs that shit on OCs– you realize you were OCs too right? what would the original writer of your canon think?
no seriously, it can be so discouraging writing an OC. how many ideas are you killing by snubbing OCs? the future of creative media is in our hands!
has someone stolen my canon?
is my canon too similar to someone else’s?
do they think i stole their canon?
and what do you do when somebody does steal your canon? it can be so hard to prove and it’s so easy for it to be dismissed
having your OC written off because of the face claim choice– that face is constantly typecast, nobody can take it seriously, they’ve been overplayed and ruined. (we love you, nina dobrev and 1D OCs, you’re doing gods work)
honestly, i’m sure i could keep going. if you ask your local OC muns, they’ll be able to tack a few of their own struggles onto this list. hell, i encourage you to!

Kang crossed paths from Blackout just....for a moment. Keeping his mouth shut and pretending to ignore them.
Tumblr media
It was only a moment for Kang. But for Blackout, he had been watching the human from a distance for a few hours now. Just checking in on one of his favorite human pets, to see how he was reintegrating into his old routine. The maverick had made a habit of doing this every few weeks or so, to make sure the human didn't go running his mouth too much...or get too comfortable.
That was why he deliberately strolled past Kang on the pavement in a human guise. He made sure to make brief eye contact with the black haired man, a telling smile on his lips all the while. It left Kang with a message;
Tumblr media
We are still watching you. And we can take you again whenever we please.

Whoa hey! What's with that gentle and lingering caress!?
"What? Are you jealous?...~

What I do with my partners is, frankly, none of your business. If she didn't want it, Odyssey is more than capable enough of a reploid to use her big girl words and tell me as such."

Blackout - skin: How comfortable is your OC in their skin? Do they grapple with anything that lives inside them—a beast, a curse, a failure, a monster? How do they face the smallest, weakest, most horrible version of themself? Are they able to acknowledge it at all?
oc asks: not-so-nice edition | Accepting
You would think that a maverick with hundreds of nanites crawling around in and eating at his body would feel uncomfortable in their synthetic skin--and that would have been true if you had met him when he first escaped his tormentors. By now he's grown used to the sensation of them crawling around inside of him, and the hum of energy they give off that is too quiet for the human ear to pick up. Like someone living with a ringing in their ears, or the human brain's ability to make you forget about the sensation of your organs moving around inside you nonstop, Blackout has come to live with the nanites without much disturbance in his daily life.
That being said, he's not without his own demons. He looks back on his "past life" as he calls it as the smallest, weakest version of himself. A hunter who obeyed orders out of fear, and sought the approval of his master for the sake of his own survival. When Blackout returned as a fully infected Maverick, he did everything he could to erase that part of him and leave it in the past. But even for reploids, the wounds of trauma are hard beasts to vanquish--and he still has moments of deep self loathing and weakness. He despises those parts of himself, and ignores them until his recharge-cycle nightmares plague him so much that he can't anymore. It's less of a desire to shed his skin, and more-so to kill the reploid he used to be.

"Only somewhat? That's no good. I suppose I ought to pick up the pace, then."
Blackout was used to Odyssey's sense of humor by this point, and so he didn't even flinch when the disc was tapped against the end of his nose. He reached up to take it from her, but not without a gentle and lingering caress of his fingers along her hand.
"I will take your gift as a compliment to our partnership rather than insult to my own programming." He smiled. "I shall look this over when I get back to my lab. Thank you, my dear."
"Obviously~"
Tumblr media
"You make my work somewhat easier. Why wouldn't I miss that."
She rolled a small silver disk that was roughly the size of a silver dollar through her fingers. When she stopped he'd find the little disk tapped against his nose lightly.
"A present to make sure other mavericks don't pick up on the unique signal your little bugs put out. I'm sure you already realize it wont work against me, but I can't have anyone getting wise to our raids."

Things That May Be Causing Your Writer's Block- and How to Beat Them
I don't like the term 'Writer's Block' - not because it isn't real, but because the term is so vague that it's useless. Hundreds of issues all get lumped together under this one umbrella, making writer's block seem like this all-powerful boogeyman that's impossible to beat. Worse yet, it leaves people giving and receiving advice that is completely ineffective because people often don't realize they're talking about entirely different issues.
In my experience, the key to beating writer's block is figuring out what the block even is, so I put together a list of Actual Reasons why you may be struggling to write:
(note that any case of writer's block is usually a mix of two or more)
Perfectionism (most common)
What it looks like:
You write one sentence and spend the next hour googling "synonyms for ___"
Write. Erase. Write. Rewrite. Erase.
Should I even start writing this scene when I haven't figured out this one specific detail yet?
I hate everything I write
Cringing while writing
My first draft must be perfect, or else I'm a terrible writer
Things that can help:
Give yourself permission to suck
Keep in mind that nothing you write is going to be perfect, especially your first draft
Think of writing your first/early drafts not as writing, but sketching out a loose foundation to build upon later
People write multiple drafts for a reason: write now, edit later
Stop googling synonyms and save that for editing
Write with a pen to reduce temptation to erase
Embrace leaving blank spaces in your writing when you can't think of the right word, name, or detail
It's okay if your writing sucks. We all suck at some point. Embrace the growth mindset, and focus on getting words on a page
Lack of inspiration (easiest to fix)
What it looks like:
Head empty, no ideas
What do I even write about???
I don't have a plot, I just have an image
Want to write but no story to write
Things that can help:
Google writing prompts
If writing prompts aren't your thing, instead try thinking about what kind of tropes/genres/story elements you would like to try out
Instead of thinking about the story you would like to write, think about the story you would like to read, and write that
It's okay if you don't have a fully fleshed out story idea. Even if it's just an image or a line of dialogue, it's okay to write that. A story may or may not come out of it, but at least you got the creative juices flowing
Stop writing. Step away from your desk and let yourself naturally get inspired. Go for a walk, read a book, travel, play video games, research history, etc. Don't force ideas, but do open up your mind to them
If you're like me, world-building may come more naturally than plotting. Design the world first and let the story come later
Boredom/Understimulation (lost the flow)
What it looks like:
I know I should be writing but uugggghhhh I just can'tttttt
Writing words feels like pulling teeth
I started writing, but then I got bored/distracted
I enjoy the idea of writing, but the actual process makes me want to throw my laptop out the window
Things that can help:
Introduce stimulation: snacks, beverages, gum, music such as lo-fi, blankets, decorate your writing space, get a clickity-clackity keyboard, etc.
Add variety: write in a new location, try a new idea/different story for a day or so, switch up how you write (pen and paper vs. computer) or try voice recording or speech-to-text
Gamify writing: create an arbitrary challenge, such as trying to see how many words you can write in a set time and try to beat your high score
Find a writing buddy or join a writer's group
Give yourself a reward for every writing milestone, even if it's just writing a paragraph
Ask yourself whether this project you're working on is something you really want to be doing, and be honest with your answer
Intimidation/Procrastination (often related to perfectionism, but not always)
What it looks like:
I was feeling really motivated to write, but then I opened my laptop
I don't even know where to start
I love writing, but I can never seem to get started
I'll write tomorrow. I mean next week. Next month? Next month, I swear (doesn't write next month)
Can't find the time or energy
Unreasonable expectations (I should be able to write 10,000 words a day, right????)
Feeling discouraged and wondering why I'm even trying
Things that can help:
Follow the 2 min rule (or the 1 paragraph rule, which works better for me): whenever you sit down to write, tell yourself that you are only going to write for 2 minutes. If you feel like continuing once the 2 mins are up, go for it! Otherwise, stop. Force yourself to start but DO NOT force yourself to continue unless you feel like it. The more often you do this, the easier it will be to get started
Make getting started as easy as possible (i.e. minimize barriers: if getting up to get a notebook is stopping you from getting started, then write in the notes app of your phone)
Commit to a routine that will work for you. Baby steps are important here. Go with something that feels reasonable: every day, every other day, once a week, twice a week, and use cues to help you remember to start. If you chose a set time to write, just make sure that it's a time that feels natural to you- i.e. don't force yourself to writing at 9am every morning if you're not a morning person
Find a friend or a writing buddy you can trust and talk it out or share a piece of work you're proud of. Sometimes we just get a bit bogged down by criticism- either internal or external- and need a few words of encouragement
The Problem's Not You, It's Your Story (or Outline (or Process))
What it looks like:
I have no problems writing other scenes, it's just this scene
I started writing, but now I have no idea where I'm going
I don't think I'm doing this right
What's an outline?
Drowning in documents
This. Doesn't. Make. Sense. How do I get from this plot point to this one?!?!?! (this ColeyDoesThings quote lives in my head rent free cause BOY have I been there)
Things That Can Help:
Go back to the drawing board. Really try to get at the root of why a scene or story isn't working
A part of growing as a writer is learning when to kill your darlings. Sometimes you're trying to force an idea or scene that just doesn't work and you need to let it go
If you don't have an outline, write one
If you have an outline and it isn't working, rewrite it, or look up different ways to structure it
You may be trying to write as a pantser when you're really a plotter or vice versa. Experiment with different writing processes and see what feels most natural
Study story structures, starting with the three act structure. Even if you don't use them, you should know them
Check out Ellen Brock on YouTube. She's a professional novel editor who has a lot of advice on writing strategies for different types of writers
Also check out Savage Books on YouTube (another professional story editor) for advice on story structure and dialogue. Seriously, I cannot recommend this guy enough
Executive Dysfunction, Usually From ADHD/Autism
What it looks like:
Everything in boredom/understimulation
Everything in intimidation/procrastination
You have been diagnosed with and/or have symptoms of ADHD/Autism
Things that can help:
If you haven't already, seek a diagnosis or professional treatment
Hire an ADHD coach or other specialist that can help you work with your brain (I use Shimmer; feel free to DM me for a referral)
Seek out neurodiverse communities for advice and support
Try body doubling! There's lot's of free online body doubling websites out there for you to try. If social anxiety is a barrier, start out with writing streams such as katecavanaughwrites on Twitch
Be aware of any sensory barriers that may be getting in the way of you writing (such as an uncomfortable desk chair, harsh lighting, bad sounds)
And Lastly, Burnout, Depression, or Other Mental Illness
What it looks like:
You have symptoms of burnout or depression
Struggling with all things, not just writing
It's more than a lack of inspiration- the spark is just dead
Things that can help:
Forget writing for now. Focus on healing first.
Seek professional help
If you feel like it, use writing as a way to explore your feelings. It can take the form of journaling, poetry, an abstract reflection of your thoughts, narrative essays, or exploring what you're feeling through your fictional characters. The last two helped me rediscover my love of writing after I thought years of depression had killed it for good. Just don't force yourself to do so, and stop if it takes you to a darker place instead of feeling cathartic
