Dreaming and reality

I lay in their arms and they pull me close, I hear their heartbeat and it rocks me into a deep slumber. I dream of growing old with them and having their children. I dream of a life together where there is no hate,there is no pain ,and there is acceptance of our life together. I dream of my dad walking me down the aisle toward my future and then I awaken in tears. My dad is no longer a part of my life and when I'm awake I feel as though I have accepted this. But in my dreams reality dissipates and my dad loves me once again and he shakes my partner's hand and places mine in theirs, giving his acceptance of our union. I fight back the pain of reality on a daily basis and feel as if I've won; but I know I haven't , I know he isn't here. But I have the one that loves me and their heartbeat calms the pain I feel. Life with them is now the sweetest reality I could have ever dreamed of. Because they too were once just a dream... Maybe if I keep dreaming of a life with my father in it once again it to will be made a reality.
