veeery sorry for the late reply!! takes me a while to get the mental energy to answer

so, to cut it short, el and lucas deeply miss max. fun fact, her body's still in the hospital, so they visit her every day while knowing she's not really there, that she's somewhere else, with... vecna.

el is one of her main targets (the other ones being will and, in ciquest, robin). but lucas is the one that makes her feel the most out of everyone, so she's pretty aggressive. she doesn't know why these two in particular affect her so much.

the thing is, even though she targets lucas a lot, she never really gravely injures him, apart from once, when she tried to infect him. even when she taunted him once, she stopped when she noticed he was mid panic attack.

the same does not go to el, who is one of vecna's targets, so she always has to take her back. but the one time she nearly did manage to capture her, she looked hopper in the eyes and said "for what it's worth, i'm sorry."

the similarities between peter parker and jonathan byers though. they’re both smol nerdy photographers in school who get/used to get bullied, plus their personalities are overall very similar. this is proof that jonathan byers is in fact spiderman.

I think it’s just frustrating because this shows claims to a show for outcast the writers only care about the privileged rich white character(Steve, Nancy, Mike ect) and sideline, traumatize, and villainize the poor and minority characters who are ACTUALLY outcast(Will, Lucas, Jonathan)

I don’t know whether to include Nancy in that group exactly bc while the Wheelers are very comfortable financially, she’s had to deal with a lot of misogyny, so it’s not the same. I think what they’ve done with Steve is the weirdest bc he’s very privileged and they’ve tried to totally erase it and act like his family doesn’t exist and he needs a job at an ice cream shop and then a video store to survive. Also he def could have gotten into college and had no financial worries about it; that plotline makes no sense. Again dumbing him down, erasing his family and status to turn him into a meme has been popular but not good writing imo.

But I def think the way they’ve sidelined Will, Lucas, Jonathan, and Joyce is really gross. They did slightly better by Lucas in s4 by giving him a plotline and Caleb killed it; but he still doesn’t have enough screentime. And the Byers fam has been completely ignored for multiple seasons and it’s just sad—there’s so much there.
