If you’re interested, Alice Winn’s website has a historical notes page where she explains some of her poetry references! There’s quite a lot of Siegfried Sassoon on there, because he was a big inspiration for Ellwood’s character!
I’d definitely recommend checking them out because they made me love the book even more <3
