Samaritans is 116123 not 0800116123
tl;dr: The correct phone number for Samaritans is 116123 and not 0800116123. When you see the wrong number popping up, please can you point out the right one?

There's a copy-and-pasted post making its way around Facebook and Twitter which, while meaning well, gives an incorrect phone number for Samaritans.
It's frustrating to see because people will save it and, when they try to call it in a time of crisis, it won't work.
The correct phone number for Samaritans is 116123. It is a free number but there is no 0800 prefix.
Another number to save as a just-in-case is 116000, the Missing People helpline.
