the one thing lia will never remove from her resumé, because she’s just too proud of it, is her creator credit for “could be worse,” a sketch comedy series  ( a la SCTV or SNL, which were absolutely inspiration for her and her friends )  she helped create during her sophomore year in college. it continues on as a kind of tradition even after she and her fellow creators graduate and she still loves to watch the episodes that students put out online. it was a collaboration of film, creative writing, and theatre students overall. they did two episodes a month: one was totally pre-recorded, then put online, and the other was filmed live in front of an audience. they did this because it gave them more freedom in their writing and filming. they had more freedom with the pre-recorded stuff, but the multi-cam live show needed them to be a little more creative with what they were doing and how. the live show wasn’t often livestreamed or broadcasted directly, but they did their best to treat it more like live theatre, rather than like a multi-cam sitcom in front of a studio audience, which mainly just meant they stopped the show as a little as possible, if they stopped at all. by the time lia graduated, the show was pretty popular among students and had a small online following outside the school. since graduating, she maintains that the show is better now as newer people come in and do it.
