25. What was your first impression of this character? What about now?

I’ve been a hetalia bulgaria enjoyer for so long I honestly cannot remember,,,but it was probably that I thought he had a sick color palette (what can I say,,,green coded characters go so hard) and that’s probably it because back then!! he didn’t even have a personality yet ok we made it all up! now he’s my silly rabbit my poor little meow meow I wake up and think of him and then at night I dream about him I literally study bulgarian at university that’s how mentally ill I am! <3

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

I think what I like about cro are his complex relationships with literally everyone, like, you really get it all with him! slovenia his childhood companion that he doesn’t get along with that well anymore,,,that whole thing with serbia where trying to strangle each other is their foreplay!

8. What’s something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

I honestly don’t think I spend enough time interacting with the fandom to know this so my silly answer is when they give him short hair :( I KNOWWWW that he has short hair now but I will not be letting go of his cute little ponytail!

now lietpolski first brought this to my attention and idk if she’s the one who came up with it or someone else but,,,,that slovenia actually bleaches his hair,,its soooo funny to me! and as a fellow fake blonde I can see it, his personality just lines up with it very well haha

serbia/slovenia has literally been the center of my orbit for a hot minute lately (again,,,,,because of lietpolski HAHA) like I think about them all the time now T_T but macho guy and pretty twink is a great concept

honestly I think I just like how much of a little shit he is and yet still has that golden boy vibe around him wtf is up with that! however,,,,I am also sooo delusional about him I don’t even know why

Spiracle by Flower Face!!!! also Red Wine Supernova by Chappell Roan has been on loop lately as the ro song for me lately! (and because I can’t not say a taylor swift song Renegade is very very robul from ro’s perspective for me)

7. What’s something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

I looove when people make him super weird and strange!!! you’re so correct for that!!

this headcanon started out a bit as a joke but ro routinely getting excommunicated for doing some fucked up vampire or magic shit HAHA I think it’s such a funny contrast to his favorite neighbors bulgaria and serbia who are good christian boys who think they can fix him lol

something I like is when familial or platonic relationships get highlighted as well? like moldova and romania being close T_T especially in human AUs when authors can get creative! one time I read a fic where ro and hungary were step siblings and I’ve been thinking about that concept ever since HAHA and something I don’t like,,,hate so say it but some human name choices make me cringe a bit?? he’s not the character where I’m super picky with names and it rarely happens but!! yeah,,,,

honestly at this point he’s been my favorite for so long it has become part of my default setting but I like that he used to be the biggest meanie on the balkans and now he’s a wet tissue of a man! duality!
