After all, it’s not her fault that their respective best friends took to each other like moths to a flame and ditched them to go flirt in the great outdoors. In all likelihood Betty’s vacation is just as ruined as Jughead’s, so they may as well commiserate together.

“Sending what?” Betty wedges between Jug and the arm of the loveseat, looking where he points on his laptop screen.
Sure enough, Forsythe Pendleton Jones III, is booked for a flight to Burlington on December 23. Two days from now.
Betty lunges for her own computer on the coffee table, so frantic to get into her email account that she mistypes her password three times.
Top of her inbox: Elizabeth Anne Cooper, booked for a flight to Burlington on December 23.
Just below the confirmation from the airline is an email from Cooper-comma-Alice.

It made for a ridiculous image: Veronica dressed in heels and a chiffon dress, but wearing a Santa hat and covered in flour; Archie wielding a ball of dough and as many decorations as could fit in his arms; and then Betty, placing felt antlers on her head as though it were her battle armor and yanking a protesting Jughead up by the elbow.
Betty’s in for a happy surprise when she shows up for Christmas with Veronica and Archie and their front door is opened by none other than Jughead Jones.

She nods. Betty Cooper nods, agreeing to pretend-date him. An extremely normal favor between friends.
Nerves shudder their way through him.
In kind, Betty shivers, and it becomes clear they need to return inside.

Her only response is to roll her eyes at him, which gives him a semblance of hope that they might retain normalcy in their friendship after this fiasco is over. Or rather, to use Betty’s own words, their relationship.

Freelancing in technical theater means you’re on a lot of different email lists. People need a crew, they send out an email, you respond with your availability. Now, most people start these with things like “hey folks” or “hi everyone”. Neal is not most people.

It’s weird to me that a lot of Bughead fans out there are okay with Jabitha happening because it’s what’s best for Jughead, while Betty needs to work through her issues and on herself 😒
To me, it feels like Jughead isn’t in a place for a relationship either. He has the mob after him because he owes money, he is an alcoholic, clearly has trauma from his New York days, hasn’t moved on from his high school girlfriend - but yeah totally, it’s best for him to enter a relationship. But Betty, you better stay single, girlie. Only men get to have romantic love when they are going through issues.
Also, how these fans love Betty slander… but continue to claim they like Betty. Time to change your pfp cause ur fake as fuck.

I would agree that betty is definitely getting way too much hate. I mean many of her actions ate questionable... but its riverdale. The writers consistently show the male characters to be better. Also betty is currently dealing with a lot of underlying mental health issues which she is trying to ignore and use harmful means to cope(like jughead with his writers block).
I hate that you said that jughead will probably be the one to solve the case and betty found a lead just because of him. Like yeah he introduced her to the guy on the highway but betty was the one who did the actual investigation in polly’s case while jughead was dealing with aliens. Then they realised its correlated. Also tabitha introduced jughead to the guy so maybe tabitha will be ghe real hero Omg that wld be fun.
Its been seven years since all the drama happened and it WAS shitty but we need to remember that people change a LOT over that time. And I honestly think betty and jughead stayed in touch for a while after that scene.
Jughead has done a lot of questionable stuff too but this show is trash so sfdghfhf.
Anyways i love betty and jughead and will believe that the amazing fanfics out there r canon rather than the shitshow.

I feel you, somehow Betty is the one who should be held accountable for her actions, nevermind that she already did say sorry who she should 7 years ago (even if the Varchie fandom wants to forget), and somehow she is the only one who isn’t allowed to feel everthing according to her trauma? While Archie, Veronica and Jughead are allowed?
We all know the fbi thing is stupid and she shouldn’t be an agent to start with, but damn some people are just taking that out of her storyline, when it’s so much more.
you know, for all the takes on betty’s (badly done, 100%) fbi storyline, which was probably only done so they could connect her family to it (charles, etc, since the women on this show must have a man be the driving force of their arcs for some reason) and to create the requisite serial killer vs traumatized betty storyline i’m not seeing a lot of anti-military takes for archie (since everyone is always connecting her fbi thing to the real world issues surrounding it). especially when he’s running the rotc which is honestly just sort of a targeted recruitment at minors but whatever.
wonder what the difference is there?
it’s just all cherry picking to make points. i’m not saying i’m not guilty of it, sometimes i focus on one thing more than another but the imbalance overall has been going on since the start for a year in regards to betty’s character vs the others.
i don’t really judge any of the characters for their indiscretions and bad judgement. i may not like all the characters but to legit sit around and pretend that betty is being weighed and measured equally among the rest of them is laughable at best.
i feel like betty, at this point, could actually off the serial killer this season in defense of her friends and family and someone would still show up to say that we didn’t have all the facts behind the killer and betty should be the one held accountable for murder, not the tbk, while still giving props to penelope blossom for her body count.
