this both accurately explains my opinions and is going to be incomprehensible to anyone who isn't trapped inside the phandom
My brain, loving and appreciating narrative parallels and themes: Danny and Vlad are perfect foils AND they have BEAUTIFUL generational parallels through their respective trios. In a more narratively coherent version of DP, this should be explored to its fullest potential. This logically means that Danielle should not exist so as not to distract from or muddy the waters of the prime dynamic.

Are there any songs that you associate with Vlad and Dani?
Absolutely, Blinding Lights by The Weeknd, Love Game (Timecop1983), and Static (Timecop1983), all of which specifically make me think of Vlad and Dani in the Girl Out of Time AU. The 80s vibes plus the lyrics in each of these songs are thematically perfect for the 1986 cheese melt angst!! I'm strongly considering doing a lyrical comic based off one of them...
Also, low key the entirety of the Timecop1983-Searching For Tomorrow album can be considered part of Girl Out of Time's soundtrack. I've listened to it enough times (in addition to 80s rock and pop songs) while working on the AU's art to have a scene associated with almost every song off it!

A sort of sequel to the cold hands comic. This is a slow burn cheese melt reconciliation situation where Dani buries her love for Vlad so intensely that she loses access to her ghost form. Repressing an obsession/emotional purpose never leads to anything good, but Dani feels the need to protect herself emotionally from Vlad, so he can't hurt her again. The worst part is that he's not even behaving maliciously toward her anymore. Evil, she can handle. But clinical indifference, broken up by the odd moment of almost gentleness? It makes it harder to hate him.
Also, shout out to @shesintoomanyfandoms for writing an EXCELLENT ficlet based off the cold hands comic. Please read it, it's brilliant and more than satisfied my Dani angsting about Vlad needs!
