Some more explorations from Earth 345879. When you follow your uncle into the contract killer business, it's important to have a reliable way to get rid of the evidence.

Art from about a week or so ago- why on earth didn't I post this sooner? Anyway, I'm real proud of how the anatomy on this is looking. OC is Spider-Man Alkaline, a 2099 variant.

thanks to everyone who answered the poll/replied! Here's what I went with- a slightly tweaked version of 02, with a little bit of 06's shape added. Naturally It's going to get refined even more as I keep drawing her to nail down the details, but this is the basic idea.
every character of mine naturally goes through a slow evolution as I draw them more and more- something that someone on here one described as "the lover's scrunch". I really like that idea, and it makes me feel better about forgetting or adding details when I work without a reference. but as her design evolves, I'm sure she'll only get closer to really looking like "herself".
Redesigning my OC! Help me choose a hairstyle for her! Emily is a tough, spunky and funny First Nations girl, and a bit of a trouble maker. Options below:

revamped Spider-Man Emily design to reflect alterations to the lore I made up. she's a big boy now <3
She's not a part of the Spider society, but if she was her code name would be 2099 Alkaline. Her world is controlled by corrupt corporations, which has led to environmental degradation and alkaline rains that erode buildings and monuments in New York. because of this, she wears a heavy waterproof suit.
she was given her powers with the intention of making her a corporate raider for Alchemax, but she defected almost immediately. since then she's been on the run.

I'm practically addicted to remaking the same old OCs over and over to fit whatever new fictional universe has captured my imagination last. It's tragic. This time I'm obsessed with the DC show Sweet Tooth, a fantastic post apocalyptic story. If you love grounded, realistic apocalypse fiction, horror and found family, then Sweet Tooth may just be the show for you.
In this particular iteration, Miles is a member of The Last Men, a fascist militia group that controls most of the Midwest. He served with loyalty for almost a decade, until a hybrid hunt mission goes wrong and he learns that the hybrid children the Last Men have been hunting for so long are actually sentient and capable of speech, directly contradicting everything he's been taught. He ends up defecting and going on the run, taking the hybrid that changed his mind with him. Emily is nine years old and half golden eagle, and grew up dreaming of a town on the other side of the Canadian border, where supposedly Hybrids can live free and be accepted...

A wintery OC portrait. Done traditionally with grey markers + a little bit of digital manipulation to clean it up a bit.

My dad thrifted this for a work white elephant party, and let me tell you the only thing worse than coming home to find this THING on the dining room table is googling it and finding out that it's worth over a hundred dollars. FML.

+layer in reddish brown set to colour in blending modes to get rid of that awful yellow skin tone --> warp tool to correct anatomy and pose --> rerender to make lighting more accurate and smooth issues caused by warping --> translucent red multiply later over the background to bring back contrast with the figure. Edit time: 1 hr 35 mins.

This is terrifying in every way.  And also all so she can both be so thin that she has no butt but also look like she has one at the same time.  The ultimate in Escher technology.

These Barbies are expressly prohibited from entering spider society HQ due to extreme canon event interference!
I wanted to draw my spiderverse characters, but decided to do a full scale piece instead of a standard character ref sheet. These two are preexisting OCs that I decided to Spider-man-ify. Meet Emily Fenstar, alias Spider-Girl, and her uncle, Miles "Deadpool" Fenstar.
Some lore:
Emily comes from earth 4082 in the year 2085. She was raised by her Uncle Miles after the death of her parents. Her world is controlled by a series of megacorporation monopolies, including Alchemax. The CEO of Alchemax sought to create a new generation of mutant heroes, and began experimenting on his company's employees and their families. Miles and Emily were abducted, split up and altered. Emily had her DNA spliced with the DNA of a spider, and Miles was enhanced with a super serum that granted him an extreme healing factor to the point of immortality. They believe themselves to be the only survivors of their respective programs.
Miles was eventually able to escape, rescuing his niece on the way out. He took on the name Deadpool and found work as a mercenary to support her and keep them both from being recaptured by Alchemax and their many engineered monsters. During his captivity, he endured horrible injuries from imperfect versions of the serum and his hair went prematurely grey. He's set apart from most Deadpool variants out there by the fact that he's never had cancer, and more importantly, the fact that he actually knows how to keep his mouth shut. He works hard to keep his daughter safe, especially when she tags along on some of his jobs.
Emily is far from standard as Spider-People go, due to being genetically spliced like Spider-Man 2099. Her power set is similar- she has sharp claws, venomous fangs and no spider sense. She built her web shooter herself. Her venom is stronger than Miguel's, and will kill instead of paralyzing. She doesn't hesitate to use it when she gets into a pinch, and has no qualms about killing to protect herself or her uncle. Both of them are incredibly wanted by the authorities, and she would rather die than be caught and returned to the program.
There are other versions of Emily that ended up becoming Spider-Woman, but the Emily from 4082 is the only one that wasn't bitten by a radioactive spider and didn't have her uncle die. Missing the first two canon events threw off her whole timeline, leading to her never meeting the person who was supposed to be her version of the Gwen Stacy event, as well as practically every other thing that was supposed to happen. Because of this, Miguel slapped her with a permanent ban and a no contact rule against all of Earth 4082, with the excuse that her dimension was probably unstable. She thinks that's bullcrap and fully intends to find her way in some day when she's got less to worry about.
Fun fact: This piece took me nine goddamn hours. Enjoy.

That #relatable moment when you get bored and design an entire lineage worth of Jedi OCs... Haha, right guys?
I started out wanting to draw a specific preexisting OC as a Jedi, but then I got to thinking more and it kinda... exploded a bit. I got thinking about how the major lineages have names, you know? Like the Disaster lineage and the Shatterpoint lineage? I loved the idea of calling these guys the Hearthfire Lineage and kept that inspiration through the design process. I wanted to incorporate fire-themed elements through their designs, like Vero's shawl and Master Kalyani's wood branch necklace.
Edit: if anyone felt like sending me asks or comments about these guys, or doing anything involving their OCs interacting with them, please do! I think that'd be super cool!

Super quick speedpaint I did for school. This was a test rough for a painting. I've scrapped this idea in favor of something else, but I still liked how this turned out.

"THEIR NAMES ARE QUIETER THAN SILENCE, THEIR FORMS UNFATHOMABLE, THEY ARE THE WHO."
This is the only known way anything that is not them can describe them, just their words can break you physically.

My part of a Colour palette drawing challenge I did with my friends! Painting something with such a limited colour palette was fun, and I think my work looks pretty good in a lower dynamic range. There were certainly some stuff to mess around with during rendering, trying to make parts of the image read correctly when the line art was the same color as the dark background. Overall, I had a lot of fun with this! I saw the colour arrangement for the first time and immediately thought of an angler fish, so I made an angler fish mermaid.
