Focusing on Dallwn, Nbetta, and the twins since Dallwn/Emery/Verwn appear on page 1

I didn’t realize how much I needed to get to know my side characters before I could feel comfortable drawing them. I’m not sure if that’s something other artists feel but I really struggled to be happy with my design for Dallwn until I thought about who he was as a dad, a king, and a person. And then his design elements fell right into place!

A collection of Golden Boy sketches to kick off my OC drawing prompts

The first one with Rowan, Tessele, and Evendur is from a few months ago when I started this challenge and then I decided I wanted to do it over and focus on my Golden Boy characters. But of all of my characters in the world of Tannoch, Rowan was the first created.

Second go (third image) is Emery and Verwn who are the first characters pictured in the graphic novel! I’ve drawn them before as the age they are for most of the book, but since they’re pictured as young children in the first few pages I decided to draw them as littles for this prompt. Emery is willing to put up with Verwn’s shenanigans at all times and Verwn is determined to be the best warrior of the clerical guard.

Wasn’t sure how I was going to spend the evening after one of the biggest events of my veterinary student career but I’m hanging out with my roommates drawing random art prompts and tbh I couldn’t have asked for anything better

I forget how fun art can be when it’s low pressure and then I have to be like. It’s me I’m the one who applies the pressure
