For those of you who worship or have a relationship with the moon, how do you engage with it or commune with it? I’ve found it to be much easier to commune with things like the ocean because I can actually be inside it but the moon feels so far away…. Maybe moon water tea? I would love any suggestions!!

Sometimes I see explanations of ground and center as pulling energy from earth and sometimes as taking away your excessive energy, so like whats the true
Hi! I think I have a post about this somewhere in the ether but it must be years old at this point.
Anyway, long story short: in this context, grounding is a homonym. It is multiple separate words with different meanings, some of which are mutually exclusive.
Here are some ways I've heard "grounding" used in spiritual & witchcraft spaces:
Pulling up an excess of energy from the Earth, often using roots or plant visualization. Also could be described as raising energy from the Earth.
Connecting to an energy current which is believed to be naturally balancing, therefore removing extra energy from you, or regaining over-spent energy (common sources include Planet Earth and trees). Also could be described as balancing energy levels.
Connecting to an energy current which is believed to be naturally balancing, for the purpose of moving energy through your body, neither to gain an excess nor give any away; this is thought to be a helpful and revitalizing energy work exercise. Also often called energy cycling, or cycling.
Mental health coping techniques, often for managing anxiety, a popular form of which involves acknowledging sensory inputs. This has nothing to do with energy work.
Meditative state in which a person seeks to become calm, balanced, and in tune with the present moment. This is about meditation and isn't related to energy work.

The reason the work you’ve done on how you feel doesn’t seem like it’s working is because you need to do it until it works. It’s never been “this strategy will pull you up” it’s always been “here’s something you can do that will END with you getting out of that hole” the climbing still hurts and the being underground still hurts but that doesn’t mean it’s not working

The personification of the natural is exactly the tendency I wish to suppress in myself, to eliminate for good. I am here not only to evade for a while the clamor and filth and confusion of the cultural apparatus but also to confront, immediately and directly if it's possible, the bare bones of existence, the elemental and fundamental, the bedrock which sustains us. I want to be able to look at and into a juniper tree, a piece of quartz, a vulture, a spider, and see it as it is in itself, devoid of all humanly ascribed qualities, anti-Kantian, even the categories of scientific description. To meet God or Medusa face to face, even if it means risking everything human in myself. I dream of a hard and brutal mysticism in which the naked self merges with a non-human world and yet somehow survives still intact, individual, separate. Paradox and bedrock.

What to do if witchcraft suddenly gets way too intense
1. FINISH WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
► DO NOT walk away from an uncompleted ritual
► DO NOT walk away in the middle of a spell
Grab your notes and close everything down. Dismiss any spirits or entities you are working with. Close down the circle. End the ritual. Diffuse the energy of the spell and close it down. If you were enchanting an item, announce over it that it is closed and nothing more may come in or out.
Spells and rituals are little portals of power; if you leave one open without closing it, all sorts of things could get screwy and come through.
2. End any spooky/witchy atmosphere immediately.
Blow out all the candles.
Put out all the incense.
Turn on all the lights.
Turn off spooky chanting music. Turn on some happy music or better yet, a non-supernatural television show or movie you love.
If you were enchanting an item, immediately put it in salt.
3. Don’t destroy the items/notes you will need later.
Trust me, do not throw away the spell you wrote or the objects you were working on. If things go wrong in the future you will need these to fix the problem.
► Immediately write down exactly what happened. Write down every deviation from the spell that you did. Write down exactly what you said and saw during any visualizations. Write down exactly when things started to get freaky.
► If you were enchanting an item, keep it in a black bag filled with salt until you are ready to deal with it.
4. Cleanse.
Use an energy cannonball to purify the space you were working in. Burn rosemary and bay leaves to fumigate the area, or spritz a premade water solution if you can’t have smoke. Pay special attention to all ritual tools.
If you feel the need to, cleanse yourself by visualizing the power of the smoke enveloping you and driving away any bad vibes; or take a shower if you really feel something has gone wrong.
5. Get out of the area you were working in.
Go to another room. Leave the house if possible. Seek the company of others or turn on the television if you are alone.
6. Do mundane things for a while.
Eat a nice meal. Drink a big glass of water. Go for a jog. Do some chores. Put anything magical totally out of your head. Absolutely do not focus on how weird things just got.
7. When you are ready, return to the area you were working in.
Relax yourself and judge the energies within the room. Are things still ‘creepy’? A heavy-duty cleansing is in order. Do you feel as if someone else is there? Open a window and command it to leave - if it does not, more fumigation or a banishing is required.
Judge your ritual tools and determine if they will need additional cleansing. If you were working on an object, determine if it has been corrupted or if anything is wrong with it. If so, put it back in the salt and deal with it as soon as you can.
8. Take a break from witchcraft for a couple of days.
9. Figure out what went wrong.
Fear is never a good thing. There is a difference between embracing the darkness and being afraid.
► Fear can be caused if an entity showed up you were unprepared to deal with.
► Fear can be caused if your intuition (or perhaps a spirit ally) was warning you that what you were about to do was a really bad idea.
► Fear can be caused if you tap in to powers that overwhelm you.
You need to figure out what went wrong. It isn’t a situation where you can say “oh well” and try something else later - because you screwed up, and next time you may not get an adequate warning before things go to hell.

I think people have become so far removed from the natural world that "witnessing nature do it's thing" is often misinterpreted as having mystical significance.
This is not meant to be a judgement of anyone, no one here is the reason we live in a society away from the wilds. But I think that the little to no exposure people have with non-human spaces turns perfectly ordinary occurrences into something of a spectacle.
"I keep seeing large groups of crows around, who is trying to reach out?" Probably no one, crows are diurnal flock animals that actively seek out people because they are smart and know we have lots of stuff they can scavenge.
"This tree in my yard put out SO many flowers but seems to be dying now, did someone curse me?" Nope! Trees, particularly fruit trees, can stress bloom, where they put out tons of flowers in response to any number of stressors. Might wanna see if you can fix the stressors to save the tree.
"I was walking around during a storm and lightning hit a tree I was near, what does that mean?" It means you should thank your lucky stars you didn't get hit yourself. Lightning wants to touch the ground so badly and will zap the tallest thing around because that is the fastest way there.
"A cat gave birth under my house, do I have a familiar now?" Maybe. But under the house is dry, warm and relatively safe. She picked that spot because its a good place to keep her babies.
All of these things and more happen ALL THE TIME, we just aren't as aware of them as we used to be. Seeing nature in action is incredible and special in it's own right, just maybe not in the way you want it to be.

This is an example of a Traditional West Country domestic charm I’ve made from gathered snail shells. While, historically, this particular form of talisman has no title that I know of, my partner and I have come to call it a Dodman’s Chain.
In the West Country, charms such as these were used to bless the home with prosperity and protection, thanks to the potent virtues of the Snail, who has long been associated with luck, preservation, and the domestic abode.
The Dodman’s Chain pictured above was composed from 13 shells strung together on waxed twine, with charms worked into every knot. The entire implement was then suffumigated with an incense made from Dragon’s Blood resin and Maidenhair Fern, before being consecrated in the name of the Dodman— Snail Warden of tne Wending Way, and Horned Lord of the Wild mysteries.
These are available for sale on my shop, for $39 each!

im a new witch. whats the difference between charging and enchanting? they sound so similar
This is one of those things that's up to personal definition, but honestly more likely than not, the aesthetic. I'm sure plenty of people will disagree with the definitions I'm about to put forth.
Any time anyone is talking about charging an object, they're almost certainly describing the act of gathering or accessing metaphysical energy (let's say, solar energy) and then putting some of that energy inside of an object.
Generally, charging is understood to be separate from programming. Programming is when you then pattern or mold that charged energy into a specific form, so that it does something you'd like it to do.
You can charge a candle with solar energy, and then program it to bring wealth. Or, you could program it to banish shadowy spirits.
On it's own, however, a candle with raw solar energy is not necessarily going to do either of those things.
Sometimes, charging is what is done to an object which has already been programmed in the past.
Things which produce consistent magical effects, such as an amulet of protection against ghosts, will tend to eventually run out of energy like a battery going dry. The act of charging is therefore the act of taking raw energy and putting it back inside of the amulet, to re-activate the programming and have it begin working again.
A sorcerer could be very good at charging without necessarily being good at programming, and vice-versa.
If we're talking about creating spell vessels, I believe that between charging and programming, enchantment is most similar to programming.
If I want to successfully enchant a spell vessel, that means that I want to take an object and give it specific metaphysical instructions or patterns.
Typically, when I sit down to do an enchantment, there is also some aspect of charging. That is because in my paradigm, some level of metaphysical energy has to be present in order for me to imprint my will on it.
I would tend to use the term enchantment to describe a complete spell process which includes both charging and programming.
Once an amulet has been enchanted, in the future it may need to be charged again.
Outside of the creation of spell vessels, enchantment is sometimes used as a term as related to glamours or spells of influence. In this context, it would not be interchangeable with the terms programming or charging.

Hey, I'm Sam, pisces. Thank you for doing free readings! I have a pretty boring question, tho so I apologize for that T - T I've got signals from other readings that someone important is soon to come into my life (probably romantic?) and I'm curious if you could tell me what does this person do for a living and if they're well off materially. Thank you again, and have a nice day
Hi, Sam!
The tarot can be difficult with specifics so it is likely I will receive a more general answer. The future is also not set in stone in my opinion, it is always changing. The tarot gives us one possible future but this is not definite. Please take everything with a grain of salt!
Question 1:
For "what does this important person do for a living?" I drew the Page of Swords. The first thing of note here is that pages usually denote a young person or a student. This may indicate that this person is still undergoing their education for their future career or is in the beginning stages of their career and is still learning. This card also generally involves a more detached attitude towards conflict or life. Instead of meeting things head-on, the person scopes out the landscape from afar without getting overly involved. It is a role of observation and detachment.
To get more clues about potential careers, I drew a clarifying card: the High Priestess reversed. This card points to an impassioned involvement with the outside world and those around you, at its worst meaning a loss of the connection with the inner self because of a preoccupation with the world. This card feels antithetical to the previous card, which pointed to a cold detachment. A possible meaning is that although this person is detached and observational, they are so caught up in this mode of observation that they have also lost contact with their innermost self.
I honestly have no clue what this might mean regarding careers. A job that involves observing others without becoming involved with the inner or outer worlds is about as specific as I could get. Maybe a job that requires a lot of objectivity, like scientific research? Or perhaps working for a company collecting or interpreting consumer data, a form of observation.
Question 2:
For "is this important person well off materially?" I drew the reversed X of Swords. This card denotes a reprieve from challenges, although a momentary one if the individual does not work to change their path in life. I interpret this as this important person having financial hardship that they are now being relieved from due to a change in circumstances. If they take advantage of this moment of relief they will continue down a more fortuitous path.
I hope some of this was helpful, I'm sorry that the section regarding career is so vague. Specifics like that can be very difficult with such a limited reading.
