ok but what if in a marauders band au, regulus sings jolene (like the miley cyrus cover, a bit more rock-like) in one of the shows with his band while james is in the audience, and he does it when he is going through something with james, so like regulus thinks james is still in love with lily, but they are actually just best friends and lily is obsessed with mary, but james and lily still love eachother, but in a platonic way, and regulus cant see that yet because they just started dating

i’m sorry you’re genuinely a fucking asshole if you’re going on goodreads and writing full in depth scathing reviews of FANFICTION. like genuinely, sorry but fuck you if you do that. fanfiction is not there for you to consume as general media and quite frankly should not even be put on the same platform/grading and rating scale as books that have gone through professional publishing with 582 consultants and 17 proofreaders and will end up with the author holding a big ol check. fanfiction is just one person (sometimes two if you have a beta reader) having fun. for FREE. it’s not there for you to pick apart on a separate platform where a) the author has not consented for their fic to be and b) the author can VERY EASILY SEE.
fanfiction is not there for you to read and then rant about how much you hated the writing and the plot was underdeveloped and this trope didn’t work for you and you didn’t find this particular interaction funny. it’s not written for literary analysis so it is obviously going to crash and burn for you if you read it that way. if you don’t like a fic then just fucking click the backspace button. that’s it. that’s what it’s there for. and if you’re so woefully obsessed with your stupid fucking goodreads goal because you want to show off to all ur little pals that You Read Books This Year (which is a pathetic way to consume literature btw but i digress) just add it to your library? no need to even rate it. or go read jane eyre or something and critically analyse that. thankfully for you, charlotte brontë is too dead to give a fuck. unlike the fic authors who are seeing exactly what you’re saying about their hobby.

okay but this idea has been brewing in my head for awhile
what if the marauders and golden trio switched places?
like the golden trio in the first war and the marauders in the second. how different would it be?? WHAT WOULD HAPPEN??
Would their be a traitor that caused Harry and Ginny to die?
Would one of them end up in prison?
Which one of the marauders (or co) is the chosen one? Probably James.
Would Sirius still leave Grimmauld?
Does Draco replace Regulus in dying in the cave?
Are Fabian and Gideon basically Fred and George?
Also in this world would Ginny and Harry even get together?
It would go Weasleys into Prewetts probably.
Would Harry figure out about the horcruxes in his time at Hogwarts or would it be James?
Does Remus still end up a werewolf or is it someone in the Golden Trio era?
Is Harry still raised by muggles? or has he always been introduced to magic? (Assuming he’s still a halfblood in this timeline)
If Harry knows about magic does that mean he won’t fight the hat about being sorted into Slytherin? Would we get Slytherin Harry?
Does Hermione end up in a different house than Gryffindor? I think she still would be in Gryffindor but I think it’ll also make sense for her to be Slytherin/Ravenclaw.
What about Ron and Harry’s friendship? If Harry knows about magic does that mean he never befriends Ron or does that mean they were childhood best friends?
Again if Harry knows about magic would he accept Draco’s offer of friendship easier OR deny it? This also plays into Slytherin Harry, does he build that “alliance” or just make friends.
How does James deal with being “the boy who lived” ?
Do Lily and James end up together in this timeline?
Would Dumbledore die during Harry’s schooling or James’?
What about Snape? Does he still end up being a bad person? Would it still be another Draco-Harry parallel with Snape and James?
In this odd scenario, would Snames be a popular ship or would it still be Jegulus?
Would Neville and Hannah be tortured to insanity leaving Alice or Frank to be raised by grandparents?
Harry & Ginny in this universe is tripping me up, because Ginny would be a Molly parallel which means she would introduce the Prewetts to the new gen so how would Hinny play out? would it play out?
If Hinny doesn’t play out who does Harry get with? Like James doesn’t pop up into existence?
Would Sirius be a Ron parallel or Peter? Is there a parallel there?
Does James end up going into the Triwizard? Or does that never happen since Barty Crouch Jr. isn’t a professor?
Do the Marauders still die just in the Golden Trio timeline?
How would it play out with like Draco being a Bellatrix parallel? Would Draco encourage child death eaters?
Would Andromeda still run away?
Honestly i’m thinking of it, there is a chance that Harry would be a pureblood in this timeline but let’s just say he’s still a halfblood but if we’re basing their relationships on parallels and what would make sense, would Hermione and Harry get together?? Or would that be more of a Wolfstar/Prongsfoot/Prongstail/Padstail/Moonchaser/Moontail (i listed all of them shut up) parallel.
Bill, Charlie, Percy, George, Fred, or Ron would have to have Arthur, and unless someone besides Ginny had Molly, Mathur couldn’t happen. (Only the boys could have Arthur because there’s no mention of other Weasleys).
Like it would be so different imo.
There is so much to explore in this type of situation especially because when you think of it.

The Pevensie children are too old for their age.
Their mom notices, at the dinner table. She sees no nagging children, no stupid fights. She sees Lucy eating and speaking with perfect manners, Edmund analysing the economy and war with concerning skill, Susan being gracious but poised, like a diplomat.
Their father sees it in Peters eyes the first time they get into a fight. When he moves to punish Edmund for speaking out of turn, Peter calls him out on it. When his gaze meet his eldest son's, he's leveled by the war he sees behind it, the tensed muscle in his arm, the knuckles white around his knife. He's seen that before, in other soldiers. He doesn't know how to react.
Other children notice, too. Talking to all the Pevensie kids at the same time is like being the only one left out of a secret, and the way they touch and tease each other speaks of a history far deeper than their polite demeneor lets on. And when they walk they fall in line, as if there is a natural hierarchy between them.
The first time anyone picks a fight with Edmund, Peter comes home with a three week suspension and blood around his mouth. He looks more alive than you've seen him in weeks.
When Susan gets back in the pool after Narnia, she wins all the contests. Coaches can't explain how to beat her, because they don't understand how she's doing it, either. She seems to almost disappear when underwater.
Lucy, always gay and golden-haired, starts dancing, and never misses a step. She moves with an elegance that no 10 year old should have, and all the girls want to be friends with her
Edmund soon becomes the best student in his faculty. He always seems to know the right thing to say, and teachers laud his ability to think through complex problems. His mouth does get him in trouble sometimes, but the boy seems uncatchable, always talking his way through the cracks. And if not?
No one actively fears Peter, but everyone is a little scared of him sometimes. He's tall for his age, sure, but there is something else, some other air that seems to give him an authority far beyond what's normal for a teenage boy. He's nice enough, but teachers can't stand it, and bullies learn very quickly that pissing him off means missing teeth and black eyes.
The Pevensies are not quite inhuman, but not fully mortal, either
