Traxton stalking some creature that’s been stalking the villagers

Here’s some portraits of the twins--Jenna/Meta and Jesse/Contego Jenna has been attached to the Parallels Project since the beginning, and has gone through A LOT of changes in the latest iteration, both with personality and design. She used to be more of an extrovert who would drag others into clubs and stuff, but that shifted to Maddie, and a lot of the plot-related stuff with the Nielson family just made sense for her being the quiet type.

Her twin brother is the exact opposite, and often speaks up for his sister when she can't find the words herself. Jesse's got a massive chip on his shoulder and is always at odds with his dad, but does his best to look out for his sister and her mental welfare cuz he knows how much friction upsets her, so he tries to hold back from arguing with their father when she’s around 🫠

Magical Muriel for this St Patrick's Day pic! I was originally gonna go with another idea but it seemed too Valentine's Day-themed, so changed it up last minute. I'm still figuring out how to illustrate her powers for the comic, but I think I'm getting closer to something I like!

So @missmarck is hosting a fun lil DTIYS where you draw your ocs in Western gear in anticipation for her comic’s next season coming up on March 15th, and I figured it’d be fun to toss the Traxtons into the Old West! They traveled the world after getting married, so they most likely wound up in the Western Territories at some point too ;) Anyways, you guys should check out Dazer and Eleanor on Webtoons!!

I’m completely normal about Dune ok *sweats*

I've been waiting for Part Two ever since I watched the end scene for Dune in 2021, and it DID NOT disappoint!  Part two was one of those movies where I felt like I needed to just process all I saw a few hours afterwards.  The story was told so well and with such care for the source material, and the visuals were absolutely stunning.  It's one of those movies (for me, at least) where it didn't feel nearly three hours long and I wanted just a bit more at the end, especially given the way that Villeneuve chose to close it that felt like a punch to the gut LOL

The parts that really stood out for me were the opening scene with the eclipse (HOLY COW I COULD GO ON ABOUT THAT SCENE FOR HOURS) and the way that the audience watches Paul struggle with embracing the identity of the Kwisatz Haderach for most of the film.  I wanted to capture both of those parts with this piece, hinting at the internal conflict and the coming Holy War that's set up at the end of the movie with the blood on his hands.

I appreciate the ask!! Maddie keeps her dad’s police badge as a memento (and something of a good luck charm) when she started getting into hero work. She sees it as a reminder of why she wanted to be a hero in the first place since her father was killed in the line of duty by a supervillain during a brawl when she was seven; she wants to do what she can to prevent others like her father from getting caught in the crossfire by using these abilities she now has, and is more prone to helping out law enforcement and first responders at the scene of a fight~

Happy Valentine's Day! I went with a redraw from 2011ish of Jesse and Maddie since I haven't really touched on their relationship much with the revamp yet! These two have a love-hate relationship due to trying to vie for leadership of the Junior Members on the hero team they're on, and Maddie seeing Jesse as a hothead, and Jesse seeing Maddie as an insufferable know-it-all. They eventually get over their prejudices, though they still call each other out on their flack when they're dating ;]
