Sisko's like “hey so we have discovered an existential threat on the other side of the wormhole and might end up as the front lines if anything goes down. can we get something to defend ds9?” And the federation sends them 1 (one) experimental ship that might self destruct if you use it too hard.

What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
Q/Picard and Quark/Odo. They have similar dynamics of chaotic gremlin troublemaker/uptight authority person, so the reasoning is the same.
I can accept that Q and Quark have unresolved sexual feelings for them. So I'll accept these as one-sided on their parts. But it feels very out of character to me for Picard and Odo to feel that back for those two specifically and then want to return it.
With Odo, we see how intense it is for him wanting something past basic friendship with Kira. He does everything he can to hide it from her. It takes an extreme situation for him to even admit it. When she does find out, he doesn't do anything about it until a year later, and that's only because of outside help.
And the one time we see Odo do a "one-off" romance, it still takes him a lot to actually do anything about it. He's not the type to "fool around" with intimacy. To do so with Quark? Forget it.
While Picard isn't as uptight about sex and romance, I still can't see him getting involved with Q like that. Like Odo, he's too selective.

Only one comes to mind, in all my 12 years on tumblr. I wouldn't call it "hate" but certainly misguided idiocy trying to "educate" me. It's from a year and a half ago about two of my fanarts of Sisko and Geordi. You can see my response here.
I did have a great laugh about it and explaining to someone, presumably another digital artist, how COLOR and LIGHT works. 😆 (I'm 95% sure I know who sent it).

Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?
Hm... Something that's a most-of-fandom opinion? I can't think of an arc from either TNG or DS9 like that.
Maybe Jadzia's death. Though that's less "like" and more "I don't have a problem with it in-universe". I don't mind her dying. I like her as part of the group, but I could never get invested with her as an individual in her focus stuff. It's set up well enough in-story, and they use it well for other character stuff, like it being Sisko's breaking point to leave for a while. Also, it led to Ezri, who I like more as a character. (Never mind the Julian/Ezri stuff).
Most shippable character?
William Riker is definitely the easiest to imagine trying to flirt with everyone at least once.😏 He's just down for a good time with whoever, and there would also be no hard feelings no matter what happens.
Jadzia Dax. Similar energy to Riker, though a little more selective. When she's interested, she's definitely interested, either as a short-term fling or serious long-term relationship.
Least shippable character?
Wesley Crusher, on account of him being the team "kid" without anyone else near his age. Of the adults, Worf is the least shippable. He's kind of too much of a gruff loner type for me to imagine with many others.
Quark. I have no desire to see him with anyone. He'd be difficult for the others to want to date, as well. Odo is also up there, because he really has interest in only Kira like that, and we see how very intense that is for him. So I can't imagine him with anyone else at all.

He's def the type who would want to try a bunch of random online courses just because.
Something that's so funny to me about Bashir is that McCoy and Crusher both are definitely the CMO. They arrive when medical emergencies happen, and they are "a doctor not a [...]." But Bashir will do anything. Engineering? He took an extension course at the academy. Partical physics? Sure, why not. Piloting? He's there on the bridge ready. Hand to hand combat? He'll give it a go. A man who is permanently up for anything and overqualified for all of it.
