To go about your confusion over the carnival in the tags, OP, I would like to draw attention to something that’s been speculated by some fans! Little nightmares has always made a comment about overconsumption, especially in their main games.
In the OG, it was the gluttony of the guests. In LN2, it can be speculated to be about commercialism (the obsession over tvs to the point the residents could die) Perhaps the circus is a comment about overconsumption again? Maybe with the waste, littering and exploitation at a carnival, the pleasures humanity take are aligned with living in the moment, but on mass it’s easy to forget to take care of the moment to preserve a future?
saw someone post on twitter about how little nightmares 3 is potentially about pollution and i feel sick from how absolutely right they probably are 😭 i’ve been FUMBLING!

When we were about fourteen a friend and I once spent a good ten minuets discussing desserts we do and don’t like. I don’t like red velvet cake, she orders it every time it’s available. I enjoy fondant, it makes her stomach churn. We agreed that rice pudding is a classic hard to mess up.
It was a simple conversation, but it’s one that I’m happy to think about. Something about how you’re always getting to know people and how vast we all are despite possibly only having one ride on this planet each.
My friend likes red velvet cake. She struggles to make herself eat fondant. But we both love rice pudding.

I can’t remember where I saw this from, but I once saw a breakdown on YouTube about Golb from one of those channels that go deep into the AT lore. One particularly good point was that Golb could possibly control aspects of *all* chaos, like keeping things the way they are. Finn supposedly crossed dimensions, and he may not have been meant to live his life in that pillow world. I can’t make it make sense without the video (I’ll find it to link it if I can), but the main point is that Golb just shows up to put things back to how they were, even if it results in messy chaos for everyone else when he leaves. Maybe the reason he didn’t show up in Together Again is because Finn died the way he was supposed to, or where he was supposed to?
Sorry for being almost exclusively horny on here, expect another wave of me flipping thr fuck out this Thursday at the new fionna and cake. I had a super long discussion with a friend that thought Golb ate universes (which is why he thought we saw Golb at the end of Puhoy), but that brings the question of why does it only happen in death in that episode and not in Together Again distant lands?
Personally I think he (is it she now?) is just an agent of unprecedented chaos. My biggest questions is if the dimension Golb resides in is a prison, a meditative area, or his home plane? And how does he interact with death like he did in Puhoy?
