you ever think about how if spamton was real right here right now, hed probably be more successful than in his big shot era? but this time itd be all him, no one pulling any strings, bc were all just feral for him
people are foaming at the mouth throwing as much money as they can at products with his branding! imagine if he could actually profit from that!! such fiercely dedicated fans snapping up any crumb theyre given. in a world of light with so many people on his side, wouldnt that be [heaven]?
At this point, most of the fandom seems to agree that Kris represents Frisk, rather than Chara, and that Chara is the narrator for Deltarune.
But did a version of Chara ever live in Hometown? I have a theory.
The Vessel we create at the start of the game is Chara
This theory is based off the fact that when we name "the fallen human" in undertale, it turns out we are naming Chara, the first fallen human, rather than Frisk, the character we play as and the eight fallen human.
The vessel looks quite similar to Kris, just like Chara looks very similar to Frisk.
This next bit is mostly guesswork:
Chara ran away from an abusive home (like in undertale) and ended up in Hometown. They met Asriel, and were taken in by Toriel and Asgore. They were likely around the same age as Kris is when they are adopted by Toriel and Asgore.
The Halloween photo was taken "eight years ago". Seeing as Kris is 15ish, this photo was likely taken when they were around 7, so Chara and Asriel were likely 6 or 7.
A few years later Chara died or went missing somehow (buttercup poisoning like in undertale?), and ended up wherever Gaster is, and where Dess likely ends up later on. No-one other than Noelle thinks about Dess, so maybe it's the same with Chara: only Asriel really remembers them.
Another few years on, and Kris gets adopted by Toriel and Asgore. Maybe they ran away like Chara, maybe they were adopted from an orphanage.
Back to the vessel, I think they are what Chara looks like in the place with Gaster and Dess. All of Gaster's followers are greyscale after all.
The vessel/Chara may appear later in the game when/if Dess does.
This is just a weird theory I was thinking about this morning when I was wondering if the vessel would ever return.
Apparently that there's a 1-in-20 chance Ralsei will do this instead of falling asleep during the Snowgrave version of the Ferris Wheel scene. It seems to be an intentionally slightly distorted version of one of his dance sprites:
Oh my goodness Toby why... Ralsei why... Why Is He Stretched???
That longer video was really interesting and it's so intriguing that this sprite was disguised with the file name to look like the dance sprite at first glance. I have absolutely no ideas about what this could mean.
Thank you so much Doge, I appreciate seeing this, even if it is mysterious and frightening...
I don't think it would be incorrect to say that Kris is sometimes just bigger in the Dark World. Like,
They really are just a little self-conscious about being so small and meek in real life. They really do just kind of want to be a hero. Someone who can be brave at all. And the Dark World reflects this dream, like any other.
Giggles a bit cause this ties into my theory of the dark world being a dream world (not an actual dream but a world of dreams)
So kesMadgik on youtube removed the smoke from the last cutscene.
Before:
After:
and…for good measure, the sprites:
Without the smoke, a couple of odd things can be seen:
Kris holds out their heart for a moment towards the fountain. It almost looks like they’re toasting.
They put the heart back in - of their own accord.
They go right back to sleep, along with everyone else.
Is it important that everyone in the room is asleep before the fountain takes them in? Berdly and Noelle were asleep when the fountain was summoned in the computer lab…
