it feels like it’s been forever even tho it’s been only like 2 1/2 months. sorry i randomly went MIA i unexpectedly got offered a promotion at work and ive been working so much more an im so tired all of the time. in other news my son finally is walking yay!

i’m finally starting to feel better thank goodness. my son just turned 1 on New Year’s Eve and is acting as if he doesn’t have covid he’s completely fine i’m flabbergasted (in a good way). he’s laughing, being a wild baby boy and crawling 100mph everywhere im like “ru even sick kid?” 🤣 finally feel good enough to go on my laptop again and play some sims. maybe i’ll finish that high school i started building like 4 months ago i’m in a building mood lol

Forbidden Feelings

Emmett stood on the edge of the bonfire, watching Payton laughing with her friends. They were all having a good time, talking and joking around, their faces lit up by the dancing flames. Payton looked so beautiful, her long hair shining in the firelight, her smile contagious. Emmett couldn't help but be mesmerized by her, his heart fluttering every time she looked his way.
But as much as he wanted to tell her how he felt, he couldn't bring himself to do it. They had been friends for as long as he could remember. Payton, Lucas and Emmett had grown up together, spending countless hours playing in the backyard, going on family vacations, and even going to the same school. And now, seeing Payton so happy and carefree, he couldn't bear the thought of ruining their friendship.
It had been eating at him for months, this secret crush he had on Payton. It only seemed to grow stronger with every passing moment, every time he saw her smile or heard her voice. But he couldn't risk losing her, not to something as silly as his feelings. And what about Lucas? He was like a brother to Emmett, and he didn't want to betray him by confessing his true feelings for Payton.
Emmett sighed and turned away from the bonfire, his heart heavy with unspoken words. He didn't want to ruin the fun for everyone else, so he grabbed a drink and found a spot by the lake, gazing out at the water. Maybe one day he would find the courage to tell Payton how he felt, but tonight was not that night.
As the night went on, the bonfire died down and most of the guests started to leave. Payton came over to where Emmett was sitting, smiling at him.
'Hey, want to go for a walk?' she asked.
Emmett's heart skipped a beat. This was the moment he had been waiting for. But when he opened his mouth to speak, the words caught in his throat.
'Uh, actually, I should probably head home,' he stammered, hating himself for backing out.
Payton's smile faltered for a moment, but she nodded and said goodbye before heading back to the party. Emmett watched her walk away, wishing he had the courage to tell her the truth.
After all the guests had left his parents house and he said his goodbyes, he drove home, his mind filled with regret and what-ifs. What if he had told her how he felt? What if she felt the same way? But deep down, he knew he had made the right decision. He couldn't risk losing their friendship, even if it meant sacrificing his own happiness.

Fireflies and Feelings

A bunch of friends gathered at Emmett’s parents house for a barbecue on a warm summer evening, he couldn't help but steal glances at Payton as she laughed and chatted with her brother Lucas. He couldn't ignore the tightness in his chest every time she smiled or the flutter in his stomach every time she touched his arm.
As darkness fell and the stars lit up the sky, Emmett found himself alone with Payton on the porch. It was a rare moment of privacy in their usually busy lives. They sat in comfortable silence, watching the fireflies dance in the air.
'It's so peaceful here,' Payton mused, breaking the silence.
'Yeah, it is,' Emmett replied, his gaze still fixed on the fireflies.
They fell into another comfortable silence until Payton spoke up again. 'You know, Emmett, you and your family have been there for Lucas and I since our parents passed. I don't know what we would have done without you.'
'It was the least we could do,' Emmett said, his voice barely above a whisper.
'I'll always be grateful to you. You're like a brother to me,' Payton said, turning to look at him.
Emmett's heart skipped a beat at her words, but he forced a smile. 'You're like a sister to me too, Payton.'
The words hung in the air between them, unspoken feelings threatening to spill out. But before either of them could say anything else, Lucas came bursting through the door.
'Come on, guys! Let's go down to the lake and have a bonfire!' he exclaimed, his excitement contagious.
Emmett and Payton both laughed and followed him, their moment of intimacy forgotten in the excitement of the evening.
