It wasn’t a shock that he had suddenly mumbled about needing to go get something. He leaves often to return with gifts of all kinds, always something new. Always something stunning and thoughtful, more than you could ever ask for. This, however…
“You adorn them often. I thought that you might desire another.” A pretty pink pearl, fresh from the ocean, delivered by hand. Slowly encircling sandy fingers around it, you clutch it to your heart with unspoken warmth.
“I’m not sure I deserve you sometimes…” It comes out before you can stop it. His gifts are always so well thought out; it’s become more than clear that he pays attention to every aspect of you. In turn, you try your best to be a good mate, but…
You sink down to the sand beside him, cold tentacles slithering around your frame almost immediately as your make contact with the warm sand. An unpleasant sound rumbled through his pale chest, a clear sign that he disagrees.
“A present from you is something I will cherish for years to come.” Your mate slides closer, so close that he’s pressed up to you, his face burrowing into your neck.
A giggle almost escapes you as he noses at a sensitive spot, his breath hot against your damp skin. You brush his hair back out of his face lovingly, a thumb raining across his scared cheekbone as he practically purrs.
“You deserve the world a more, my Treasure. I will stop at nothing to give it to you.”
