If you're going to do podfics, do it appropriately and with permission. Podfics should be an accessible thing, not something you post just for views. Not only do many of these 'Podfic' channels use AI art, they use stolen art. (Same thing.) I asked one channel to take down a video because I didn't support art in thumbnails being used without permission, and they told me "You don't have proof that I didn't draw this." It's very clear they do not care about accessibility nor our writing. If the fic has enough kudos, they want apart of that. There's no 'respect' as they claim to have involved. I write for fun, not views. And I am very happy to allow people to translate and make podfics of my works if they enjoyed it that much so they can share to more people who cannot read it otherwise. But follow the rules I state on my ao3, and RESPECT artists. I do NOT allow for you to use my work otherwise.

i dunno if i've ever said how i got my username so let's drop some lessy lore. :3

when I was I believe in middle school a lot of youtubers i watched had characters that had 'Dr. /Doctor' as an honorific. i though it was silly, and I think watching DanTDM with his character 'Dr. Trayaurus' was what made me wanna have 'Dr' somewhere in my username the most.

to be completely honest, I think in the present I'd take it out of my username. but it's so ingrained in everything I have so it's kinda impossible. i'm okay with it as just a joke/something nostalgic, but just being called "Lessy" with the 'Dr' just being something that makes my username Unique is okay :)

the 'lessy' part actually came from "lesbian". I wanted my username to initially be "DrLesbian" but back then I wasn't sure if that'd be accepted- so I decided to go with "Lessy". I thought "Dr. Lesbian" would be funny, something something joking about diagnosing people to be gay. dumb, i know LOL let it be known, I have never been a real doctor & it's just been a character thing for a while. I don't even think Lessy has had any real doctor qualities, maybe for a brief moment when I roleplayed her as a character & not a sona back then HAHA. she has bunny knowledge. that's all bun gets. as for 'Koogi123 / Kooki123' that's just a username my mom gave me back in elementary. :) ..and now I use it on a fanfiction website/side blog LOL there have been other usernames before DrLessy- ones I can remember are 'SpiritedNeon' & 'Cosplay Raichu(or Pikachu?)', & well- I cannot remember for the life of me any others.

While I enjoy using ao3 & favor it's tagging system, I sure as hell do not support what the OTW are doing right now.

I won't be posting to ao3 for a while- & I've never donated, but I sure as hell won't be now. (& I encourage others to do the same. The website is non-profit & runs solely on donations. Donate to ANY Palestine organization instead. A fanfiction website is not a necessity to stay alive.)

I've got all of my fanfics downloaded (+ backed up) & I'm not sure where yet- but posting them on another website is on my to-do list. Relying solely on ao3 probably isn't great in the first place anyways, it's always good to have multiple backups of things if you really want them to stay- I think.

If anyone has any recommendations, let me know. Edit: It may be a while before I really figure out where else I want to post my fanfics. Again though, all of my fanfics are saved + backed up. So when I find something I really like, I'll be ready.

I have kudos on fanfics that didn't tag triggering things ahead of time, instead only adding the tags once they WROTE the triggering thing. :/

So let me add on.... Tag your fics ahead of time if you PLAN on writing something triggering. Or even just straight up NSFW. If the thought even just comes by, TAG IT. "Possible NSFW" works. "Possible triggering content" works. We can see it, we can filter it out, we can avoid it.

(This can also apply to tags in general, ex: "Possible Character/Character, Possible angst, Possible whatever else" Adding "Tags will update as fanfic updates, however there will be nothing triggering/NSFW in this fic or additional ships" somewhere is nice too if you cannot think of tags in the moment.)

We can't take away kudos, and I've lost my trust in leaving kudos on unfinished works after thinking I was okay 60 chapters into an actively updating work- only for them to add a NSFW tag on chapter 61 and go 'Surprise!' in the notes. What is wrong with you. Actually.

Went in there reading something wholesome, even leaving a comment- only to leave feeling not great now that I had kudos on something I didn't support / enjoy.

"But it's not like anyone is going to know that you left kudos?" Ermm... Oh yes they absolutely can know. Don't get me wrong, most aren't gonna be looking for your name in kudos. But when googling/searching your user, sometimes the fanfic can pop up BECAUSE you left kudos on it. It just sucks regardless though. :/

Don't add tags unrelated to your fic for 'traction'. (it doesn't work like that.)

Don't add 'surprise' tags later on that are triggering/NSFW/unwanted by your readers who came for something else entirely.

Tag your fanfic JUST IN CASE the thought comes by of "I think I might write (example) in here but I don't know if I should tag or not." DO IT!

There's notes for a reason too. Explain your reasoning why a tag is there (And the reason cannot be 'to reach more people') if the tag isn't relevant to the (unfinished) fanfic yet.

I apologize- this is a ramble. But it's so frustrating when we have such a good tagging & filtering system on ao3 and it gets abused or misused. As long as you have a decent summary & a few good tags that are related to your fic- trust me, SOMEONE is going to read your writing.

Honestly though, try writing to simply have fun- worrying over kudos / comments in the long run is tiring. I understand the serotonin that comes from it though. Just don't trick your readers as to get that serotonin, it's not as fun for you as it is for us.

"this ship isn't here but i added them for reach" "this fandom tag isn't necessary but i'm adding it for reach" "reposting for reach" STOP IT!!!! this is not tiktok this is not twitter this is an ARCHIVE this is not how it works!!!

Something to add on, If you make a Podfic of my fanfic on youtube- please don't use someone else's art in the thumbnail without permission FROM the artist + giving credit TO the artist in the description of your video.

I see a lot of Podfics with uncredited art & I don't want to be apart of that. Artists deserve credit just as much as writers.

I don't even aim to make money off of them in the first place, I write them for my own self indulgence and self serotonin. And it's so damn wonderful that people enjoy what I write :,) Don't put down writers who just want to express themselves like that with your own greed.

I'm honored that someone would want to read out my fic, or even translate it as well. My silly little fics? No way.
