Artist Notes: I find it kinda fun that Nikolai is so familiar with Zoya’s powers that he’ll casually ask her to use them for super mundane things. Spilled his tea? Napkins blown his way. Fruit on that tree looking kinda good? Gust of wind to shake the branch. Too hot? Instant fan.

Morning Doodle: Before his death Nikolai will have written Zoya over a thousand letters, each sealed and placed in a wooden box. Some of them contain little stories, some of them admit embarrassing secrets, and some of them are simply reminders that he loves her.
When did he find the time to write these? Well, I imagine some of them were written while in his workshop, some while in long meetings, many on Sturmhond’s ship, and a few while Zoya slept beside him…messing up his penmanship whenever she rolled around.

KoS WIP: Genya Hair Progress! Originally intended for her to be a test before I work on Zoya, but there are a few Zoya-Genya scenes I’d like to make (including the hug scene and the “blonde” incident).
Braid got pretty messed up from me using lattice deformers on the curves a few times, so I’ll have to go in there and fix it along with a few other things. This is probably the fifth time I’ve attempted her hair, but that sounds about right when it comes to me learning anything new.

KoS WIP: Some Lashes, brows, and eyes today! I really sprinted before and after work hours to try to get Genya’s hair completely done, but it’s a pretty complicated hairstyle and I try to acknowledge when I’m pushing myself too hard, so I’ll have to finish it next week.
Also played around with the amazing FlippedNormals Eye Kit in order to see if I could make a blendshape for Zoya/Juris’s silver dragon eyes! Kinda creepy to see just the eye animated, but I guess it’s kinda normal for me to weird people out at this point.
