SUMMARY +RANT (LONG!)
Killstagram (살인스타그렘) season 2 just came to an end so I’ll give a review!
I heard about it from a friend and it seems like one of the more popular Webtoons. It’s easy to see how it catches people’s attention, it is quite thrilling. There are however, a few loopholes that I noticed while reading that I haven’t noticed others mentioning. Is it just me? Lol
Here’s a brief summary, I’ll save spoilers for later:
There’s two seasons which aren’t really related and you don’t need to read S1 before S2, the common factor is both MCs are influencers on Instagram.
S1:
Do Remi (도레미🎶) is a young influencer, she’s always posting wherever she goes in real time with hashtags like #lunch #frontofhouse (yikes) and basically makes it way to easy for anyone to know where she is. Her friend warns her that there’s been a lot of stalkers targeting influencers and how she needs to be more careful, post after she’s left etc. This causes them to fight which DoRemi quickly regrets and invites her over the next day or so to make up. Little does she know it’s already too late and she indeed has a stalker. Her friend gets abducted and uses her phone in order to deceive Remi. A lot of stuff happens, she meets a boy who she quickly depends on for moral support, crazy looking man who says he’s going to kill her, and a twist that you may or may not see coming.
S2:
Cheon Sarang (천사랑 👼❤️) also a young influencer, is out shopping with a friend getting ready for a birthday party with a bunch of other influencers. At the party she gets a weird message about some ghost murder game telling her she’s now a participant. A ‘tutorial’ message appears and someone right in front of her is struck by a falling chandelier?! She wants nothing to do with it, in fact she avoids anything to bring any bad publicity because secretly she’s raising a daughter and can’t risk not having an income. It soon explains that everyday participants must vote on who they think the ghost is, that person will die, but if it turns out they’re not a ghost the game continues. After someone is votes on one participant is chosen at random and gets to chose how they die. After that comes the ‘ghost killing time’ where the ghost itself picks one participant and has a certain number of hours (maybe 4?) to kill them. This one gets even more intense with many turns.
Tumblr media
Can I just say I love the names the author chose? Obviously Do Remi is the music notes but in case you’re not too familiar with Korean, 천사 means Angel, and 사랑 mean love, so her name could be interpreted as angle love (I’m still learning, there could be another meaning, but as I understand it it’s pretty cute)
Both seasons are action packed and waste no time to get into it. It’s thrilling, the art is eye catching and cute where it needs to be, creepy where it needs to be. From time to time there’s some inconsistencies when it comes to perspective and anatomy but overall not bad. If you’re looking for something scary that’s easy to get into you’ll probably enjoy it.
I did notice a lot of holes however, especially in S2. These WILL BE <<SPOILERS>> so decided if you want to reas ahead or not.
First of all she keeps talking about her daughter but she never tries calling her or anything. I could’ve gotten over this but there’s no mention of a babysitter and later on she mentions she has no other family. Did this not bother anyone else?
Next, that fight scene with pip squeak when we first realize how crazy she is. She hides in the closet, sitting with her feet up facing the door. Tell me HOW HER HOODIE GOT CAUGHT IN THE DOORS? I get she needed to be seen somehow but it’s just not possible with her sitting in that position. Should’ve made it her shoelaces. Then when she’s caught and going to be attacked she CUTS OFF THE GUY’S ARM WITH A KNIFE. THE KNIFE IS SHORTER THAN HIS FORARM IS WIDE?? Then on top of that, imagine how sharp that knife would have to be in order to cut through the middle a bone in one sweep. Dramatic? Yes. Accurate? No…
Then when Sarang is confronted with her, having to sneak around to get her cell back she throws her shoes as a distraction across the room…only to run to her cell while wearing those same shoes in the next panel?? Did I miss where an extra pair of shoes came from??
A little later on Sarang is caught and tied up, but she miraculously frees herself by burning through the rope with the lighter she previously swallowed and now threw up!…what? She was literally talking and couldn’t use her hands to get herself to vomit that up. Not to mention she’d be chocking if she swallowed that..???
Now onto Pig, AKA Harry(해리)?? Sorry if her name translated differently! Anyways, so she’s at this party, hands full of food, ready to jump the jerk who ran off after the one night stand, when she suddenly HAS HER BABY WITH HER? WHERE’D IT COME FROM? Also surprising sue decided to bring it to such a fancy party but I guess how else will she prove she had his baby. The after the jerk claims he had no idea who she is (sir, it wasn’t just a night together, you spent actual time together, how do you not remember women you’ve slept with????) SHE THROWS THE BABY AT HIM?? Lady, how have you not been arrested.
Now Taehyuk when he comes back. Sir. Where did you get that wedding dress? WHERE WERE YOU HIDING IT? He appeared in no time at all so I can’t imagine he had time to go shopping.
Now back to the daughter. We find out she (again, spoiler) was actually dead all along. I’m trying to understand when this happened? How long was she left in the apartment? I understand Sarang had a mental break down but again, if she was convinced her daughter was still alive then why did she never try to call her?
In the end the ghost murder game continues because children don’t grow up. I thought the end was fitting and though I just ranted quite a bit it did entertain me and the ghosts were creepy, especially that bug man 🤮 Anyways, not sure if you’ve read this far but I’d be interested to hear what others thought about the story!

Been practicing 흘림체 again lately! Still not perfect but it’s really helpful, I recommend checking it out if you have trouble reading Korean handwriting. Today I’m just following along with a YouTube video with a ball pen (unfortunately it shows through on the other side;;) It ended up looking a bit rough and I’d have to go over things to get better thickness…Maybe next time I’ll try using a different pen or marker~
Anyone else practicing? ^^

Just got a new book in! The cute cover caught my attention and I’m weak to wonderland lol
*Disclaimer: I’m still learning Korean and may make mistakes. Also can’t romanize to save my life Story contains violence which may be disturbing.
White rabbit in Wonderland (이상한 나라의 흰토끼) also has a Webtoon adaption on kakao page though I haven’t read it. It’s a survival/trying to get home/romance so it seems interesting~ The story follows the white rabbit, Soyun(소윤), rather than Alice, as she enters wonderland meeting a variety of character and trying to find her way home.
I’ll summarize the prologue and maybe update with more as I read.
It starts off talking about uni student Soyun that’s been dealing with feelings of depression and hardship lately because of her relationship with Donghyun(동현), a very handsome and smart boy who’s the only son to a rich family. He’s incredibly popular so it isn’t long after people find out about them that Soyun faces numerous personal attacks and rumours. She tries to defend herself but no one believes her and she’s all alone.
Donghyun calls her to apologize about everything and that he’ll set things straight at school. He ends the call saying he wants to meet her even if only briefly and gives her a location. ‘Things can’t get any worse’ She goes to the location with two thick books, one to hit her bf with and the other she has to return by tomorrow, ‘wonderland’. Rather than Donghyun she’s met with We Kahyun(위가현), a girl who’s been feeding Donghyun lies about Soyun to tear them apart. She pulls out a knife and starts brutally attacking her 😱Someone screams and people notice them but no one steps in (tbf the girl sounds pretty scary)
Soyun, half awake, opens her eyes to see she’s made it to the hospital. She closes her eyes feeling assured. ‘I lived. That’s a relief.’
-prologue end-
I guess she’ll be in a comma while she’s in wonderland. Didn’t take long to heat things up, guess we’ll see what comes next!

Time for another manhwa rec! 곱게 키웠더니, 짐승 (eng title: I Raised the Beast Well.) This time about a dirt poor orphan girl with a rough upbringing who finds out she’s actually the king’s eldest daughter on her 11th birthday. She moves into the royal palace and meets a mysterious black cat who has the ability to transform into a beautiful boy! Amon (에이몬), the cat, becomes her loyal companion and protects her when danger strikes (or another man, aha-). As the years progress(starting at 11, growing to about 18 so far) she has to overcome challenges stretching from learning royal etiquette to gaining acknowledgement from her siblings and cold father.
It’s a cute story about a girl and her cat! 🐈‍⬛ With a romantic feel sprinkled in as the story progresses.

Maybe you’ve been thinking of applying for Sogang’s klec program but feel hesitant because it’s online. Or maybe you’re just curious about online vs in person lessons in general. I studied at Sogang in person (2019) followed by online so I’ve seen how different it is first hand. There’s positives and negatives so I’ll try to keep it short.
Negatives
- Less chances to practice speaking.
It could be that different levels focus on speaking in different amounts but for the first two levels following the beginning of online classes I felt like I was able to practice a lot less during classes. Of course, there /was/ practice, but it felt like less which could partly be due to the next point...
- No handouts to conveniently write on. Yes, they’ll send you PDFs with extra material but you won’t get them until the class where you’ll be going over them. That means you can’t just go print them out in advance, you can’t conveniently write notes on top like you could on paper. And there’s A LOT of PDFs. I found myself having to shuffle between 2-3 at a time on my tiny phone screen, scrolling down trying to find a particular page. Or it’s just one long PDF and you have to keep going up and down to see the questions vs finding the answer. It’s a bit of a hassle tbh
- Harder to connect and interact with classmates. This may not seem like a big part of it, especially if you’re really education focused and just want to study, but if you go from in-class studying to online you’ll notice a huge difference. You don’t just enter the classroom and chat with classmates about what you did the other day, on the weekend, or maybe complain about an assignment lol. It’s small but it’s a great chance to practice using Korean in a natural situation. When it’s the longer break webcams and mics are turned off immediately. After class you probably you won’t be making plans as easily and chat over lunch. It’s harder to make friends that you can practice with.
- If you’re paired up with a classmate who doesn’t like talking you’re, well, sh!t out of luck... unlike in class when you just work with the person sitting next to you, you’re put into ‘break-out rooms’ sometimes with only one other person. If they don’t like talking it’s pretty hard to get real practice done. And it’s not like you’re surrounded by others who are practicing that could motivate/pressure them into actually practicing. You finish the bare minim and it’s a great chance to chat. ‘What did you do yesterday? What are you doing on the weekend?’ You ask. ‘Not much.’ Followed by an awkward 2 minutes of silence. I’ve had great classmates that I got along with real well online but there’s always a few of those. You also don’t get to practice with as many classmates as often because instead of just turning to the next person you have to wait to be put into a different break-out room, and not everyone finishes at the same pace.
- Uncertainty of when you’ll be back in the classroom. Online classes started in the summer of 2020 and the plan was always ‘when cases go down we’ll be back to school.’ However, even if sogang continues doing other regular programs in person it seems that they plan to bring klec programs back last. It’s been online for a year now and almost every term they’ll tell you ‘we’re starting the term online but hope/plan to go in-class as soon as possible.’ Maybe you’ll be lucky. With the vaccine coming out it should be ending soon. I’m just going to say if you’re reading this any time soon, don’t get your hopes up.
Positives
- It’s easy to message teachers questions you have. Since you’ll all be in a gc you have everyone’s kkt including the teacher’s. You don’t need to send an email, you can just send a quick question and they’ll probably see it faster. They don’t usually respond after a certain time, but it is convenient.
- PDFs. Yeah, I put them as a negative but they’re also a positive. You can easily save them and reference them later on, even when you’re done the course. You don’t have all these papers that need to be thrown out when you’re leaving the country.
- Sleeping in. Don’t like waking up early? No problem, just get up at 8:55 and drag yourself out of bed lol
- Leaving the city? No problem, you can still attend. As you may know, attendance is pretty important. But if, say, you wanted to get out of the city, or maybe you even have to go to a different country, you can still keep your attendance in check.
- Less pressure to go out. This is more so for people who are less social, or maybe you’re on a tight budget so you don’t want the stress of declining classmate’s invites to go out.
- You’ll still be learning and have a chance to improve. Yeah, I felt like I improved a lot more with in person classes, but it’s not like I didn’t improve at all with online classes? I’d recommend going for offline classes if possible but if this happens to be the best time for you, you can’t wait or there’s other things you have to do later then I wouldn’t recommend against online classes either.
I hope this has helped answer people’s concerns about studying at Sogang! If you have any other questions feel free to ask. I studied there from 2019-2021 and I don’t regret it.

Tiger Coming In
Just joined tumblr (am I late? Lol)
Just want to post about this cute Webtoon (호랑이 들어와요/tiger coming in) about the everyday life of a couple and their tiger children. The couple was having trouble conceiving a child and was advised if they live in the forest god will answer their prayers for a child. One day their wish is granted when a tiger-child baby wanders to their house. Soon after another tiger-child joins them and they start life as a happy family.
It’s a cute, easy-going story and great for anyone who wants to practice reading Korean
